We don't really need a future. Just a strong player for a year or two until wilson is healed

And you believe MJD behind our line(worse than Jacksonville's) will be a strong player?

He's also not looking for a 2 year deal, reports are 4-5.

And he wants to get paid from what I've read.

You're right, he's looking for a long term deal. But he's not getting one over 3 years..

Alright so signing MJD would be dumb... I'm snowballing here!

Exactly... He would have been a good signing 4-5 years ago.

Now he just wants top 5 money with 20-25 production.

Don't get me wrong MJD would have been a good singing a few years ago. But right now he just wants too much for too long for us to even be looking at him considering we have Andre Brown and probably a returning Hillis.

But anyone... Todd Bowles... Anyone?

What MJd wants vs what MJD gets are two totally different things. He'll likely be facing the same thing Bradshaw did last offseason.

What ever he gets is gonna be matched by Jacksonville in my opinion.

They're just seeing what he's still worth to teams and then they'll see if they can make a trade out of it.

Pretty cool little calculator. I was fooling around with it a little..

Cutting Snee, Baas, and Meyers puts us close to 30 mill under the cap. Cool

When he hits the open market, he won't go back to one of the most awful franchises in the league. They'd have to offer a lot more

Meh they're an up and coming team that really just needs a qb.

He's been dedicated to Jacksonville through thick and thin... I see no reason as to why he doesn't come back when they offer the same amount.

Could prob get another $10m between those guys and cutting webster. There's always another $5mill or so in roster fodder that can be cut with no cap penalties.

We do have alot of FAs but we are in pretty good shape cap wise

You mean the same "up and coming franchise" that he tried to strong arm into giving him a new contract before last season and there rumors he was trying to force a trade, only to go out and miss something like 12games in the last two seasons? You mean that "dedication?" Laughing

No I mean the dedication when he was a top 5 back and they were a bottom 3 franchise.

That is fun. I played.

Cut :
Snee
Baas
Kiwanuka
Myers
Webster

Resigned (to what I believe is a reasonable contract) :
Cordle
Paysinger
A. Brown
S. Brown
Joseph
McBride
Beason
Tuck
J. Brown

That leaves us with 10 million in cap space. After some restructuring of Eli and Rolle, that'll give us about 15 million in cap space. That means we have room to sign three high quality starters in free agency. My targets are Alteraun Verner, Jon Asomoah and Michael Johnson.
