At the very last game ever at the dome.

Who do you want to do the honors of sounding the horn for the last time?

Who do you want to sing national anthem.

Any special halftime show.

1. I think they should blow horn 3 times.
First have tom kelly sound horn and all twin players that played there.

Second have bud grant and all former vikings come out

Finally have zygi blow for current vikings.

For national anthem this is a wildcard. Mudkat grant. Hearing him sing what a wonderful world at harmen tribute still gives me goosebumps.

For halftime show one word PRINCE

After clock hits 0000 extra pyros

Was at the last game for the old Met.....

everyone was dismantling the place and taking stuff home. I took two chairs from behind home plate (after leaving and realizing the cops didn't care, we went back in for them). someone threw them away a few years later, w/o asking me what they were......alas.

When the Vikings closed out Metropolitan Stadium in 1981, fans stormed the field, tore down goal posts, and otherwise stole anything that wasn’t nailed down — and presumably some things that were. This time, that supposedly won’t be happening.

Minneapolis police inspector Medaria Arradondo: “There will obviously be a great deal of attention for inside security, just monitoring so that fans can celebrate, but do so safely and responsibly.”

Vikings spokesman Jeff Anderson: “All told, we’re looking at close to 700 security representatives within the building. We don’t expect any issues, but we want this to be a memorable game for our fans, and we want to do it in a safe and respectful way.”

Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority Chair Michele Kelm-Helgen: “Nobody’s leaving with anything. We’re putting that rule in place, and we’re going to stick to it from the beginning of the game to the end.”

Bud Grant said hello to the Metrodome in 1982. Now, he'll be one of those saying goodbye to it. The Vikings announced Monday that Grant, the coach when the team first moved into the building, will be among those addressing the crowd in a short ceremony Sunday to close the Metrodome after the team's 2013 season finale against Detroit. Others expected to speak include former Minnesota stars Robert Smith and Matt Birk and current running back Adrian Peterson.

Grant: "It was progress. Everyone was excited to move downtown, and now we're exited to have a new stadium ... But I'm sure the fans have a lot of great memories from the Metrodome. Maybe everybody will sing Auld Lang Syne.''

I'll miss it a little. My first memories were seeing Kirby Puckett hit a grand slam against the Tigers. Never saw a football game there but saw plenty of Twins games.

The stage is set for us to win the final game at the metrodome.

The odds are in our favor it seems. And so with that, I fully expect us to lose.

Not to be overly pessimistic, but this does seem to happen a lot in history, where there is a big emotional game, or the stage is set favoring one team, and that team goes out and completely gets crushed. I wouldn't be surprised if thats us on Sunday.

but, anything can happen, right?

Didn't happen to the 49ers last night.

Didn't happen to the Twins in game 163 a few years back.

The first Viking game I ever went to, I watched Brad Johnson throw a Td to himself against the Panthers in 1997.

I hit a home run to left center in the Metrodome when I was a Sophomore in high school. I played in two state tournaments there for football. Those were great personal memories for me.

My favorite sports moments there:

1. Watching Kirby Puckett play. Saw him many, many times and every time was better than the one before. My favorite athlete of all time.

2. Being at game 163 in 2009. The most incredible atmosphere I've ever been a part of for a sporting event. Super Bowl included.

3. My first Vikings game was the playoff game against the Eagles when T-Jack was QB. It was an awesome game and memory...until the second half.

4. Catching a BP ball from Jim Abbott. He was shagging balls in the outfield and tossed me a ball. I was probably in 5th or 6th grade and always was a big fan of his because of the fact he was a pitcher who only had one hand. On a related note, I'm also a big fan of Rick Allen, the drummer from Def Leppard...
