Don't like that we have to beat New Orleans to get into the playoffs...that loss to Arizona is lurking around the corner if we lose and they win. Mad I'm just glad they have to play Seattle and San Fran to close the season.

Buuut...let's control our own destiny and go ahead and win at home and take the division lead! Wink

Congrats on the division win guys. It was a nice hard fought battle.

I just can't see us winning this game, we absolutely suck on the road.

After the way we got manhandled a few weeks ago, I'm not getting a warm fuzzy about this game.

Panthers are gonna be pumped about getting vengeance for two weeks ago, especially in front of a home crowd. That being said, I just can't imagine Brees losing two games in a row especially with the division on the line.

31-27 Saints. We beat Atlanta to solidify a wild card spot.

Way too early for that. I'd love to say I'm confident, but hardly. It's going to be a fight either way.

I'd also love to say I'm confident, but I'm not. Laughing I'm usually the optimistic type of guy too, this is the first game this season I'm actually kind of expecting we'll lose. That's how optimistic I am most of the time. It should still be a hard fought and awesome game, but our offensive line is going to get destroyed. They do good at home against some of the best front 7's in the NFL (CAR, SF, BUF), but they just suck on the road. I'm looking forward to the game, hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

Unless Arizona upsets Seattle and San Fran, then we watch playoffs from home. Shocked

Can they do it? Mad I hope not...

No. If we win one game, we are in the playoffs:

According ESPN's playoff machine, if we go 1-1 to end the season, we make the playoffs regardless of what the other teams do.

For argument's sake, let's say that is what we end up doing.

If Arizona finishes 2-0, we would have identical 11-5 records. San Francisco would be either end at 10-6 (with a loss to Atlanta in Week 16) or 11-5 (with a win) because of the loss to Arizona in Week 17. That means the following:

-San Fran also 11-5: Carolina and San Fran make the playoffs and Arizona doesn't based on tiebreakers that I don't understand.
-San Fran 10-6: obviously, Carolina and Arizona make it.

So the fact that San Francisco and Arizona play each other in the final week really saves us, making out margin of error much larger. The only way we don't make the playoffs is if we finish 0-2.

yeah i have to agree with the guys who aren't comfortable with this game. the saints absolutely had our number two weeks ago. there has to be some residual game plan that we still won't be ready for. if the D line shows up and gets pressure on brees we win. if not we lose

It's easy to say "we need to get pressure on Brees and establish a running game" well clearly that doesn't happen every week.

We need to have a game plan for what to do if the above doesn't happen.

I think we need to find a way to take Colston out of the game.

We also need to get the offense going, not just the running game. I think we need to establish a better screen game and more running plays with Cam under center.

We need to keep Brees off the field.

I am nervous about this game, but I say we hold on in a close, hard fought battle.

27-24 Panthers.

It's weird that this game is at 1. Felt like it would have been flexed to 4. Maybe some scheduling rule?
I'm so pumped.
