Just trying a fun hypothetical because the Draft is 3 days away and we have discussed literally everything.

Last year the Jets owned the #9 and #13 picks in the Draft and ended up with a guy who should be a perennial Pro Bowler and another who should develop into a solid corner IMO.

What would happen if they possessed those picks this year? Assume picks 1-12 are the same other than the Jets magically possessing #9 and #13?

What would we do? Try to package the picks and move up for Clowney, Watkins, or Mack? Sit still and hope we can get Evans at #9 and maybe somebody like Ebron at #13? Maybe even take a top tier OT at #9 and an Ebron or Beckham at #13? Maybe even go strictly BPA with the picks and end up with something like CJ Mosley and Haha Clinton-Dix?

Lots of interesting possibilities:

1) What would you want us to do?
2) What do you think we would do?

I'd go Gilbert Ebron in the 1st and BA WR in the 2nd.

I think we would have taken Mike Evans and Dennard.

I second this.

In that hypothetical scenario I'd go Odell Beckham and Ebron.

QB: Someone
RB: Chris Johnson / Chris Ivory
WR: Eric Decker
WR: Odell Beckham
WR: Jeremy Kerley
TE: Eric Ebron

I'd trade 9 and a third to land Sammy Watkins or Mike Evans. Then I'd trade down a few slots from 13, add a 4th round pick, and draft Kyle Fuller.

39. TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins
4th. OLB Chris Smith
141. S Marqueston Huff
176. OG Chris Watt
215. OLB Larry Webster

I'm going Beckham and Dix, personally.

I don't see top half of the first round upside with HHCD. I like the second round safeties better than I like him.

Ideally I wouldn't take Dix at 13 and would try to trade into the late 1st, but if we're at 13 I'd imagine most of the non-WR players I would like would be gone.

That being said, I'm not too well informed about this year's safety class. Dix impressed me for the most apart aside from some questionable tackling techniques, but I think he could do wonders for the safety corps of the Jets as a roamer.

I suppose Dennard would be a possibility at 13, but I feel the way you do about Dix. I just don't see the upside to warrant such a high selection. What other options are there?

Ebron- He could be gone already at this point, and I don't know that I'm in love with him enough to pull the trigger either.

Fuller- Not really digging him here for the Jets. Fringe 1st round prospect if you ask me, and exactly the kind of player I'm tried of seeing at the CB position.

Barr- Yuck. I don't think he should even be on our radar in round 1.

Martin- It feels a little wrong to take a Guard prospect so early if he doesn't project to be elite or freakish at the position, but I suppose it's a solid option.

I like Dix as an option more than any of those players. I like Dix and feel like he can continue to improve, and that he would specifically thrive under Rex's scheme. I wouldn't call him a sure thing, but in this scenario I'd be willing to draft him at 13 if the option to trade down isn't there.

HHCD is the best cover safety in this draft without question. I personally have him as my #1 safety followed by Pryor, Joyner, Bucannon, and Ward in that order. Curious to know who you think is better than Dix.

Well I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree then. Laughing

Watkins and Evans would be gone by pick #9 so I would try to trade up to get Watkins and draft Dennard at #13. If I have to keep the #9 pick, then Jake Matthews could be a possibility if he drops otherwise OBJ would be the pick at #9.

Why would we draft a tackle? We have a lot of money committed to Brick and Breno.
