It's here! We actually have the ability to clinch a playoff spot this week! While very unlikely, here's what has to happen:

Car beats NYJ

AND

SF Loses to TB
Ariz loses to Tenn

AND

EITHER
Phi loses to Minn
OR
Dallas loses to GB

*shrug*

We're going 12-4, so we'll clinch eventually regardless of anybody else.

This is good to know, though...

I really believe we will go 12-4.
Us coming of a bad loss, at home, vs a QB who throws a ton of picks?
We will want blood in Carolina vs the Saints.
ATL will be a lifeless ghost town.

I think either 12-4 or 11-5 is good for us.

10-6 or below we will need help. Clinching this week is unlikely.

We didn't clinch a playoff spot, but this week really couldn't have gone better.

Winner of next week takes the South if I am not mistaken.

It looks like if the Saints when Sunday, they win the division regardless of week 17.

For us to win the division we have to beat New Orleans and Atlanta OR beat New Orleans and have Tampa beat New Orleans in week 17.

Got it, thanks for the clarification.

I did the math boys. Even if we lose both games, as long as Arizona loses one game I believe we'll make the playoffs. The cardinals play Seattle and San Fran. That being said, let's win out and take the division!

Dammit I forgot we lost to the cardinals earlier in the year. Forget what I just said. Let's go out there and win anyway!

If we lose both games, we finish at 10-6. The only way Arizona only losing one would be OK for us is if San Fransisco lost out and Arizona's one win was against them, not Seattle. We make it in a three way tie. We don't make it if it is just us and Arizona at 10-6.

Due to Detroit losing, we cannot three way tie with any NFC North team which would help us there as well. Whoever finishes with 10 wins in that division (Chicago only eligible for that) takes the division, and their division winner could have 9 or 8 wins.

SF beats ATL and ARI.
STL beats SEA.
CAR beats ATL.
The NFC playoffs go through Charlotte.

Wouldnt it still go through SEA since they beat us and own tie break? We would both finish 12-4.

Wait never mind I just realized the Niners would win the division at 12-4 and we owe the tie breaker with them. I highly doubt the Seahawks drop one next week to the Rams but lets hope!

The Rams have been playing very well lately. It is unlikely, but not a total impossibility.
