There's two of those guys on the roster, and they didn't use them enough. Rivers still seems to trust Ajirotutu. Unless they're grabbing a guy that can outrun everybody on the field, I expect it to be

Allen
Floyd
Royal
Ajirotutu

As the game day actives.

I think M80 is done and Royal cost way too much for a slot receiver(I expect us to be in two-tight end sets for the majority of the time next year).

Allen
DX
Brown
Tutu

This would be my game day actives.

Yeah I like this group too if M80 is done. Probably need a 5th WR rostered, maybe a speedy returner type.

Yeah, I think they will added a WR in the draft. A project like V-Jax was, whom can help in the return game next year and then develop into a compliment to Allen down the line.

Telesco in his speech admited to a few things:

- Pass rusher is a major need (no brainer).

- Talking about the offensive side of the ball, he stated that he wanted to add "speed". And that means speedy WR.

- Mentioning Cox he didn't give a straight answer, same with Freeney and Floyd (obvious reasons).

On a side note, hearing McCoy talk about Clary's passion and dedication, means Clary is back for another year.

I doubt 's much of a predictor - though of the guys the Chargers met with at the Senior Bowl last year... we didn't draft a damn one of them - as one year is a terrible sample-size to base any probability equation off of, but here are the players that our scouts have met with this week in Mobile:

Monday
Dontae Johnson, CB, NC State
Ryan Grant, WR, Tulane

Tuesday
C.J. Fiedorowicz, TE, Iowa
Robert Herron, WR, Wyoming
Deone Bucannon, S, Washington State
Jordan Zumwalt, ILB, UCLA
Jon Halapio, G, Florida
Keith McGill, CB, Utah
Jemea Thomas, S, Georgia Tech
Jalen Saunders, WR, Oklahoma
Adrian Hubbard, LB, Alabama

Wednesday (Still waiting on South Practice reports)
Nevin Lawson, CB, Utah State
Jimmie Ward, S, Northern Illinois
Gator Hoskins, TE/H-Back, Marshall
Jordan Zumwalt, ILB, UCLA
Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska

Not sure if it was actually a meeting, but there's a photo of one of our scouts talking with Josh Huff as well today.

I'm going off of Cherepinksy's notes because Scott Wright hasn't posted his from what I can see (and those two are usually the ones who keep the most up-to-date lists of meetings taking place). Gelkhen still hasn't gotten back to me on who the U-T sent to Mobile to cover the event, I'm still buttering up Annie, but I think she may be moving to either another publication or medium before too long (she has the personality - and face - for TV). And Acee's pretty much useless.

Zumwalt is probably a backup plan in case Butler walks. Most of the other meetings seem pretty obvious. They're certainly not tipping their hand for the 1st round though, unless they're a lot higher on a guy like Bucannon (who's my call to be this year's Jonathan Cyprien) than most. The amount of safeties we're looking at does seem to be an indication that the current regime isn't as high on Brandon Taylor as the previous regime was.

I actually like Gilchrist a fair bit at SS. He had his struggles early on, but he got better as the year went on and he's not restricted to that spot as he has very good athleticism. We should experiment more with Gilchrist getting more turns as the deep safety. We run tons of 3 safety sets because of Gilchrist's versatility, so it wouldn't surprise me if they want a third safety because while Addae showed well in Denver, he had a lot of issues playing deep prior to that.

And the new regime has no idea what Taylor can do due to that setback he had as he recovered, so I think it has more to do with them having an unknown and not someone they aren't high on.

I just thought this was interesting, but i just looked back at Joe D's draft history when he was the head OL coach (so 10-12 with the Bills), every OT he drafted, other than Ed Wang (who IIRC was drafted to play OG with them), has had over a 35" arm length. Chris Hairston, Cordy Glenn, Fluker all are extremely long, all have decent foot speed. Even Becton has almost 35.5" arms (i keyed into him early as a potential project for Joe D, i think he could be very good eventually). Just thought this was an interesting thing to throw out there.

Today I am hoping for Trent Murphy in the 1st and then Chris Smith in the second. That would give us Ingram/Johnson/Murphy/Smith and possibly Freeney as just a pass rush specialist. The defense would take a huge step forward.

I am starving for a pass rush.

I don't get why this guy is rated so low everywhere. He moves well, knows how to use his size, locks on, has good feet, and looks like he can get pretty mean. There are some flaws, but they all look like it won't take much to fix. I'd be stoked if they took him.

I got a little sidetracked watching Lucas when Keenan Taylor caught my eye. That guy can block in space, and get out in front of the runner FAST. For being as light as he listed, he holds up on the inside too. Could make an interesting project as a UDFA.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this, but I was hoping to get some feedback on a couple guys I like in the draft.

Ben Gardner - really like this guy from what I've seen. Has a great motor and appears to be very athletic. Is he a fit for our 5-tech or could he possibly switch to olb ala Jarret Johnson?

Ego Ferguson/Anthony Johnson - could either of these guys hold down our 0-tech spot? If not outside of NixIII who in this draft do you like as a NT? Daquan Jones? Justin Ellis?

Jordan Zumwalt - Love this guy. Does he fit what we do? Could he be an olb in our system? If not I think he'd be a great fit for us as a rotational ILB/core special teams guy anywhere from round four on

Gardner is interesting with his tools, but I don't really know where he fits in the defense.

I don't think Ferguson or Johnson are really fits at the zero. Maybe Ferguson, but definitely not Johnson. Outside of Nix, I like Ellis a lot.

Zumwalt is an ILB in my mind so I don't think he'd fit with us, but he's a good player.

Hi

We're voting on San Diego's pick at 25 in the draft section. It would be great to have your thoughts and votes.
