Good player in the past, kinda lost it a bit last year. He's not some broken down tackle at all, he could probably start on some teams and be an upgrade. Gave up 11 sacks last year and struggled a bit, but certainly has some football left in him. He typically has issues with speed rushers.

He has some left in the tank but I wanted no part of him trying to block Hardy, Jordan anymore. Replacing him was my second biggest want this offseason after addressing the pass rush.

I still believe Penn can start at LT in this league. It will be interesting to see if he keeps his weight down in the offseason because I feel he has gotten a little stiff resulting in not being able to bend as well earlier in his career. I would say an above average run blocker and average pass protector. Extremely durable, I think he will be a solid addition to any oline, just wasn't worth $7 million/yr at this point in his career.

Above average, but declining with a mean streak and he fights to keep his weight down lists at 305 can be near 340. Penn has been an Ironman who plays hurt and never misses a start.

He's visiting Oakland tonight and I'm thinking we might put him at guard. Do you think he'll be able to perform there yet alone willing to play that?

He hasn't played guard in his entire career. I don't see him as a guard, maybe he moves over to RT. I still think he views himself as a LT.

I honestly can't see him getting down low every play and bursting out of his stance.

I dont see him playing guard at all. I dont know why everyone assumes they are interchangeable. Would be a good one year option to let Watson develop a little longer. Maybe a better fit at RT so he doesnt deal with speed rushers

http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5885/emmanuel-sanders

Quote:
Free agent Emmanuel Sanders will visit the 49ers on Saturday.

It will be Sanders' fourth visit. He's currently in Kansas City, and previously left Jacksonville and Tampa Bay without a deal. Sanders has also been linked to the Jets.

I wonder if he isn't happy with the places or offers or if he just wants to make the rounds before he makes his decision.

What i'm surprised by is that no one has heard any updates on Tillman or Dietrich-Smith since there visit. Wonder if there is something in place and we just need to clear some space or something. Most players that have left have been connected somewhere else.

It's been confirmed that Tillman left without a deal.
