Vikings will play outdoors for two seasons at the Univ of Minnesota, before moving in to their new stadium for the 2016 season. the new stadium will be enclosed and without a retractable roof, but the west side roof will be transparent. large (90' high) glass panels can open on the end facing the downtown business area.
attached here is an animated clip showing how destruction of the existing Metro Dome and construction of the new stadium will happen concurrently:

"The house that Peterson built"?
Great news for Minnesota fans. Guess they are 100% out of the LA sweepstakes. Not that they were a likely pick anyway. |

The clear/glass roof is pretty sweet. I like it. _________________

The roof will be made of a real light weight and extremely durable polymer. _________________

it was the compromise made between an open air stadium, a retractable roof, or a closed stadium. the costs of a retractable roof were too high.
"clear roofs are the new retractables," as the design firm put it. _________________

Entirely for the sake of my sanity, someone please lie and tell me I'm not the only one who sees the resemblance?

No, I'm not a Pokemon nerd. I promise. _________________

Are you kidding? Looks great. Reminds me of the Arsht center in downtown Miami. |

Panthers are looking to add a roof to their stadium, maybe this will be a concept they can roll with. _________________

Personally I dislike it.
Was hoping it would look more like this 1st concept.
Oh Well

the problem with that one, imo, was the way the inside looked. _________________
