Detroit Lions RB Reggie Bush guarantees he won't fumble again this season

Quote:
ALLEN PARK -- Reggie Bush vows his ball security issues are behind him.

The Detroit Lions running back fumbled for the third time this season in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, having the ball stripped out after a six-yard run.

He nearly put a second one of the turf in the first quarter, but the Lions quickly got off the next snap before the Steelers could challenge the ruling on the field.

Quote:
Bush said he wasn't trying to do too much on the play, he just wasn't focused enough on securing the ball.

"No, not thinking enough, not protecting the ball, not being aware enough of my surroundings," Bush said. "The last game, when I fumbled, I was actually protecting it as I was going down, I just didn't squeeze it tight enough."

Quote:
Given his issues with ball security, he expects the Bucs to be aggressive trying to strip the ball.

"Definitely and they should," Bush said. "That's part of the job description is to create turnovers on defense. I know they're going to be gunning for the ball and doing anything they can to strip the ball away. That's what they do every day. It's on me to make sure it doesn't happen again."

What do you guys think?

I would guarantee he fumbles again. You just don't fix something like that over one week after a career of fumble issues, unless you are Tiki Barber.

To expand on your point..

Reggie Bush has 30 career fumbles, and he's lost 16 of them. This year he's put the ball on the ground 3 times officially, and lost two of them.

His second year in the league (with NO) he fumbled a career high 8 times. He's fumbled as many as 4 times in 2009, 2011, and 2012.

*Stats from NFL.com

I wouldn't be shocked if you were right.

Recognizes the behavior, realizes its wrong, admits that he is making mistakes, and wants to change that.

Can he guarantee that it won't happen again? No but I'm glad that he wants it to change. That he has a heart for the game and is a team player.

He needs to shut his mouth and play ball.

He gloated before the Bears game about how he was looking forward to gashing them again, and even though he did get good yardage, he did fumble and drop a couple balls.

Dont get me wrong, Bush has been an upgrade at RB, but all things considered up to this point, I have to say he has been a slight disappointment.

How about fixing this Reggie?

Sorry to pile on the guy cause he does work hard, but I believe its this need he feels to constantly make big plays that is causing the fumbles and drops.

The only way he could make that guarantee is if he were to not play another snap the rest of the year

Wow. The guy is pissed that he made a mistake and wants to set out to prove it wont happen again. I don't understand all of this negativity.

It's not really being negative, it's being a realist.

No one is down on the guy for what he said. It's just doubting it. I'd want nothing more than to be proven wrong and it's clear he's going to put in the effort to prove me wrong.

Only negative people call themselves a 'realist'.

Considering the amount of times he's targeted, and the company he's with (the possible AFC MVP in Jamaal Charles), I think hes not doing anything too wrong.

sounds like a pretty negative(and incorrect)view.
