Not particularly, but he was miscast with the 49ers as a #2. He's more like a suitable #4 in the slot. He's got a ton of speed, but he's got fumbling issues, and his hands are just okay. He's better than Chad Hall though.

Yeah I'd way rather have him than Hall.

Here's to hoping he turns out like the last 49er waiver we picked up. I know its unlikely but one can hope.

When I saw the thread title, I thought "HOLY CRAPTASTICAL AWESOMENESS!!! WE GOT KYLE FREAKIN' WILLIAMS??? HOW?!?!?! WHEN THE HELL DID THE BILLS CUT HIM?!?!?! ...AND WHY?!?!?!"

...and then I read the comments. And I cried. Then I died a little inside after realizing which Kyle Williams we signed. And now I'm drinking. A lot.

Thanks for that.

Boo you.

Yup, I thought the same thing and then remembered that the 49ers cut theirs.

I think of Kyle as a lesser proven Avery. When he gets acclimated after 2-3 weeks, I think as a WR, he has the skills to mix it up well with McCluster in the slot. Don't trust him as a returner, but he has been much better about securing the ball. I see him as much better than Jenkins and Hall... so I like that KC is always working to improve the roster.

Agree about Hall at least every time he stepped on the field and he was passed to he got Negative yards.

#Chiefs ST coach Dave Toub says Kyle Williams will start out as a backup PR/KR. He expects McCluster, who was injured yesterday, to practice

that may be worse than if he was just a wide receiver. He has some fumbling issues (best remembered for the two against the Giants in the nfccg) and when he caught the ball, all he did was actually catch it...he led the nfl in fair catches on punt returns and that was with him taken off punt return duties for a game.
