Scar or anyone else that is educated on the cap salary situation:

In regards to Sam Baker, rotoworld say his contract is: "3/12/2013: Signed a six-year, $41.1 million contract. The deal contains $18.25 million guaranteed, including a $10 million signing bonus and each of Baker's first two base salaries. Another $3.9 million is available through escalators. 2013: $1 million, 2014: $3.25 million (+ $4 million option bonus), 2015: $4.5 million, 2016: $5.25 million, 2017: $6.5 million, 2018: $6.6 million, 2019: Free Agent "

If we were to cut him at the end of the year...

1) how much money would we owe him in guarantees?

2) how much of a salary cap hit does that impact us?

I am trying to figure out if financially if we were keep him next year considering he just received the signing bonuses last year and despite his performance. (similar to mark sanchez deal with nyj).

financially, the 2014 year makes it to where it's stupid to not keep Baker. However, the Falcons could cut him after 2014 pretty easily.

That's what I was thinking. Most likely, we will go pass rusher in the first then BPA/needs from there.

If the draft were today, Barr or Clowney seem to be the two options unless we traded back.

That's why I just don't see us taking an OT in the first, ESPECIALLY if Clowney or Barr is there. Whether we like it or not, we are stuck w/ Baker for at least one more season. We can cut Baker after 2014 and take an OT in the first round of the 2015 draft.
