Mark Bradley, Dan Bazuin and Michael Okwo have to be some of the more notable names on that list. Guys who were clearly over drafted....Laughing

The one I still chuckle at is former Bear and current CFL/Hamilton Tiger Cat backup QB Dan LeFevour who was apparently selected based on a last second "change of heart" by Jerry Angelo, who originally planned to take RB James Starks with that pick, according to former head of scouting Greg Gabriel, who then mentioned it was one of the most embarassing moments in his professional career. Apparently they had told Starks over the phone they were just about to draft him and then BOOM last second Angelo overrules that pick and takes LeFevour. Rolling Eyes d'oh!

Let's not forget the whole Ravens/Bears draft day trade fiasco in which the Bears agreed to trade up with BAL to take Gabe Carimi, but last second backed out and still ended up with the bust, Gabe Carimi.

Man I'm so glad Phil Emery is the GM.

While I've hated having Angelo I can't count anyone from a 5th or later pick a bust. Afalava, Webb, etc shouldn't have been playing starting roles in the first place, and that likely killed their confidence and trashed potential role playing careers.

That being said Benson should be the starter. Not only was a my most hated pick, he was a colossal failure and was picked over Rodgers, who would have easily beaten out Grossman, or if Lovie homered for Rex then he would have had 14.5 games to seal the deal to keep the job. Even being a huge Gator fan, I still didn't want Rex to be our QB. That pick alone IMHO cost us a Super Bowl, maybe even two.

The Steelers-Bears pipeline goes back a long way. From Bill Hewitt and Jim Finks to Rudy Bukich and Bobby Joe Green, the two teams have swapped talent. Dan Rooney mentioned in his book interviewing JA for the GM job just before the Bears hired him. Didn't Kordell Stewart and Jim Miller try QB?

JA must have been highly recommend in Pittsburgh. Just not hired.

Bingo... You have a QB in Rex who was already injury prone and hadn't proven he was a starter yet.

Why not draft Rodgers (who was projected to go #1 at points) instead of Benson who was basically a redundant position.

OR since you love defensive linemen why not grab Demarcus Ware...

Wow, I had such high hopes for some of these guys.

Mark Bradley I really liked, I remember he had a pretty good rookie year before tearing his ACL. Iglesias, did he ever play for us?

Remember the love that Beekman got around here? Jarron Gilbert over Michael Johnson, iirc.

Oh Jerry.....

I just puked in my mouth.

Man was he incompetent.

I thought he left us with a couple of good safeties and I was wrong.

I can say that I saw Brock Forsey's all time best game. I was at the Bears/Cardinals game in 2003 where Forsey racked up 134 on the ground on 27 carries. For a 6th round pick, I guess that guy wasn't too awful.

He's a backup, read option QB (doesnt seem atheltic enough for all the running plays they sub him in for) for the Hamilton Ti Cats lol....backing up Henry "Hank" Burris!! who is running a "great" west coast offense in the CFL. Arguably two of the worst bears QBs ever

Yeah, you laugh at that now, but what about when you get a leg cramp in the pool this summer? Lucky for you, Jaron took the lifeguard job to get some extra dough, and he hops you out of the pool to safety.

Thank you Jaron, thank you.

Does anyone else think of the Lisa Lampinelli deal whenever they think of Juaquin Iglesias? Laughing

I'm inclined not to count Gabe Carimi, he may not be very good, but he's still playing in the league (a starter in tampa bay?) I know that's not saying much, but maybe he's slightly too good to be on this list. Can we find a bigger fail at RT to make the list complete?
