Wouldn't mind Lovie Smith.

I'd pass on Lovie personally. I still want an offensive mind as a head coach. Greg Roman would be the guy I'd choose, but I'm still hoping we don't fire Philbin, because I think he's done pretty well. Without this Martin/Incognito situation, no one would think he'd be on the hot seat. Either way I don't think for a second that his job is "already lost" due to the Martin thing, it would be hard to fire him if he still shows he has the locker room playing hard, especially if we make a playoff push.

I'm not knowledgeable about front office guys in the NFL but it wouldn't be a bad idea to interview some people from one of the NFL's more consistently successful franchises (SF, SEA, GB, BAL, NYG, etc). Need someone who is a draft expert, too. I want this team built through the draft.

I will be very disappointed if Philbin loses his job because of this saga

I think Ireland should lose his job because he isn't very good at his job

Problem would be though is Ross wants the big name. Lovie Smith would be a good addition. Jon Gruden would be another name to throw out. My top 3 NFL coaches would be:

1. Jay Gruden... Yes the other gruden over Jon
2. Greg Roman
3. Lovie Smith

If we are looking at college coaches though here would be my top 3:

1. Kevin Sumlin HC Texas A&M
2. Steve Sarkisian HC Washington
3. David Shaw HC Stanford

Another name that could be interesting is Marvin Lewis.

I know it's far-fetched but if the Bengals choke and fail to make the playoffs(or get eliminated early) I think there's a chance he's let go. If he's on the market, he'd be my top choice. Doubt he gets there but I'm just throwing ideas around.

Or Bill Cowher. Get him back in the game.

No college coaches....

Because why?

Lifetime college coaches who's most notable entry on his resume is running the score up on significantly weaker opponents will be overwhelmed when dealing with the parity of the NFL. I'm not against all college coaches, but we have seen in the past where they tend to draft and bring in guys they have experience especially if they don't have NFL experience previously...

I like Pioli as well he drafted 2 pro bowl type players in the 3rd round for KC OG Jon Asamoah and Justin Houston 11 sacks. plus eric berry , Dontari Poe who will be heading to the pro bowl this year

So Philbin is safe. Ross spoke very highly of him in the press conference. He said several times that he trusts him and respects him. He never mentioned Ireland though, lol.

It doesn't sound as if Philbin job is on the line whatsoever after hearing Ross speak. Time will tell obviously

I think Philbin stays and Ireland finally gets the boot.

I would like us to put Bill Polian in the Front Office.

I could really go for this. We need someone who knows how to run a front office and is respected around the league. Jeff Ireland is not. I would also add that I would want a change at OC. Sherman can not run good plays. When you know the strength of your QB and you do not utilize it then something needs to change.

We have been weighed and measured and found to be lacking.
