Everything I've read points towards Philbin and Ireland both losing their jobs as a result of the Martin/Incognito situation. Assuming both do lose their jobs, who do you think should replace them?

It will be very difficult for me to continue to support the Dolphins if both GM and coach are fired. I am all for firing Ireland but that is performance coupled with this incident. The reason I am not in favor of both coach and GM leaving is it will more than likely result in a scheme change. That was part of the reason Sean Smith and Jake Long are no longer here. It also places Miami back into this never ending "rebuilding" project. I doubt Ross cuts both. The fans dont want to go through another regime change without seeing how this one concludes. I will always be a fan of the Dolphins but I would honestly become a distant fan. It is just too painful when you see history repeat itself every 2-3 years.

I was thinking the same thing last week. What would we do if for some reason they fire everybody. Lovie Smith???

I hope it stays empty, and I'm a very big Baylor supporter.

Lovie Smith would make me more than happy. But I think he's primed for TB.

It is unsuccessful a majority of the time.

For every Pete Carroll, there is a Nick Saban and a Greg Schiano, for every Jim Harbaugh, there is a Butch Davis and a Bobby Petrino, all waiting to set back the team another 5 years.

You can say that about literally EVERY position, front office, coaching or player. For every (successful person) there are 5 (unsuccessful people). Of course. You need to evaluate the individual, not simply dismiss an entire portion of the coaching community.

For every Rex Ryan, there's a Cam Cameron and a Ken Wisenhunt. It goes both ways.

Before we go any further. We are 4-4. Why are we so quick to rock the boat after it's only been to sea for 1.5 seasons ?

We are only one and a half seasons into the current regime. Do you know the overhaul that comes with what you are asking for ? No new GM or HC is gonna come in and maintain the same system and philosophy that supposedly created the job opening in the first place.

This franchise has the quickest trigger in the NFL and this is why we will always hover between 6-8 win seasons.

Not disagreeing with you Doc...but I think this conversation is based on the hypothetical that the trigger is pulled as a result of the Martin situation.
