Chris Tomasson ‏@christomasson 2m
Minnesota's Josh Freeman: "I definitely have interest in coming back, for sure. It's a great organization, a great team."

Sounds as if his brain washing is complete.

The truth is we have no idea why Freeman has been stuck in the doghouse. It is the one question everyone, including the media, is dieing to know.

I still do not see Spielman bringing him here with intention of not playing him. I believe Fraizer had more impact in the way this situation was handled. Spielman gave up on Ponder the moment he brought in Freeman.

The team was struggling, we had 1 win, and Fraizer threw him out there too soon. He admitted in a recent press conference he was looking for a spark. It blew up in his face so he went back to his safety blanket - Ponder. Ponder gets hurt and welcome back Cassel.

We should be playing Freeman this last game. He should have been our active backup these last few games. However, Fraizer wants to win a meaningless game rather than worry about the teams future because he knows he is gone.

And that is my random opinion!

I read an article a few weeks back that the Vikings were working with Freeman behinds the scenes to correct his footwork and accuracy. They wanted him to concentrate of correcting that while he learned the playbook.

And gearing up for the offseason has begun.

Quote:
@Andrew_Krammer: RT @Vikings have signed B. Bishop, K. Edwards, K. Murphy, S. Nealy, B. Randle, & A. Thielen to reserve/future free agent contracts.

The Vikings made one roster move today, adding defensive tackle Kheeston Randall as a reserve/future free agent.

I always liked Randall coming out of college. He is a taller player, and was known for being a good run defender coming out and a limited pass rusher.

He reminds me of Devon Still, who coincidentally is on the Bengals.

Randall last played on the Bengals I believe. We probably know who influenced this acquisition.

His agent, Blake Baratz, is also based out of Minneapolis.

Still a young guy too. He'll only be 24 this May.

In an effort to address the needs of impoverished Holocaust survivors living in the United States, Vikings Owner/President and veteran philanthropist Mark Wilf has been appointed by the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) to lead a new initiative that will “assess and communicate the needs of the Holocaust survivor programs” and bridge budget shortfalls of those programs. Wilf is a longtime supporter of the Jewish community, and his family is among the largest financial supporters of Yad Vashem, the Holocaust memorial museum in Israel.

Apparently we signed:

RB Jerodis Williams
TE Colin Anderson
WR Chris Summers
DE Tristan Okpalaugo

To futures deals. Williams, Anderson, and Summers were with us in training camp. Okpalaugo was on our practice squad at one point this year.

"He's [Peterson] run the ball in closed-in quarters with a lot of defenders there and he makes a lot of long runs, making people miss or running over people," Turner said, via ESPN. "It's hard to do, but we would like to get him in space and getting the field spread a little bit better for him."

I've been wanting this change for a while! I'm sick of seeing Peterson run into the stacked boxes.

If I was a coach (Which I hope to be someday at the high school level) the single back spread offense would be my scheme of choice, QB mostly under center or in the pistol.

Spread the defense out with 3/4 WRs that run a combination of verticals, downfield crossing routes, slants, and drag-mesh patterns. Peterson gets to take the snap coming downhill and the lanes should be there for him.
