I was pretty happy with the Steelers grabbing him in the 4th a few years back, but then we cut him and you guys snatched him up.

From what I saw of him, he was a guy who was potentially dominant when he could maintain good pad level, but had to really work on his conditioning to maintain his pad level as it seemed quite obvious when he would get fatigued.

Has been a solid nose tackle this season. He rotates with Dan Williams and has done a good job stuffing the run and has played well overall.

I know many of us here wanted to draft him when he was in the draft.

A good surprise, I think that's the best way to describe it. He's worked himself into rotating with Big Dan which I am more that fine with

and here we are, sitting at the 31st position in run defense.

Yes, the Steelers FO/coaching staff has gone senile and stupid

Ta'amu has been great as a rotational guy and at times dominant. He seems to always be getting into the backfield.

At 350 he's one beefy dude.

Campbell-Williams-Ta'amu-Dockett

Try running it on 4th and short against those four.

Ta'Amu has been impressive.

More impressive is Keim's ability to collect effective defensive players on the cheap with Ta'Amu, Dansby, Rucker, Shaugnessy, etc. I'm hoping most of these guys will get signed to longer contracts.

I do love me a massive D line.

Call me old school.

Our run defense has been really good this year. That big defensive line is certainly a big reason behind it.

Having two big guys rotating at NT keeps them fresh too. Williams and Ta'Amu have gotten about 15-20 snaps each and they have both been effective.

Having Big Dan and Ta'amu leaving their best 15-20 snaps on the field has shown the best in both of them.

Hope we can keep them both around and love the way Keim is churning the bottom of the roster.

bumping this a bit...

why is his snap count so low? You guys running nickel all the time?

I also assume you're running him as a pure 2-gap space eater?

We probably only have a NT on the field maybe half the time and he usually splits the snaps relatively equally with Dan Williams. He's been a valuable player because we always have a fresh big guy in there.

He got some FB snaps in on offense last week.
