This is just general bye week talk. Talk about the first 9 games of the season and what we expect/hope to see over the final 7 games.

Oh ok it seemed like a joke at first.

No. I just set it up as a GDT.

Didn't want to invoke bad karma and call this "New York Jets vs. Bye Week." They did that in the Jags forum and they actually lost to the bye week. Their best player was suspended indefinitely.

Yeah that's a good call. We've had too much bad luck so far with the injuries and Winslow being suspended. We don't need any more bad luck and anything we can do to avoid it should be done.

Comes at a great time. We've won on the odd weeks, lost on the evens. Let's hope that trend continues for at least one more week (week 11).

Honestly though, I like how the players are acknowledging that we need to win back-to-back games in order to even be considered a playoff team. Although it isn't Rex Ryan like (1-3 coming out of byes), I really hope we can string together a few wins in a row after this bye. Although our schedule eases up, any of those games can result either way.

anything is better than another stupid mock draft, this time of the season. So i find this post interesting. Beware of our front seven, they are going to be around for a long long time.

It was nice to see some interceptions Sunday considering how so many have been dropped this season. There should be at least twice (10) as there currently is (5). None of the defenses under Rex Ryan have been great at creating turnovers though which is pretty shocking consider we've also seen little pass rush under him. It's amazing how great the defenses in 2009 and 2010 were in retrospect when you consider that there wasn't a pass rush and there were seldom takeaways + massive giveaways by our QB.

Definitely thought I'd see that blowing up this week. What else are people gonna do on a bye?

22, 24 and 24 on the D-line add in Coples (23) and Davis (24). Very excited about that.

Hopefully that game will get Coples going. If he starts playing like that each week look out.

Still would love another big time OLB opposite Coples (Mack or VanNoy). Keep stacking that front 7 with talent and youth.

I'll mock something up Wink

There's really nothing wrong with posting mock drafts.

1. They're really fun to make

2. It kills time

3. It's good discussion

4. It gets out sleeper prospects that some of us may like

5. It's good scouting practice

6. Oh did I mention that its fun?

Ya blew it.

If you don't like it, you don't have to open the thread.

So is anybody else really shocked that we're 5-4 with wins against, the Falcons at home, the Patriots, and the Saints.

I don't think any one, even us Jets fans would have saw that coming. I knew the Jets were not the 32nd team in the league, but I didn't think we'd be in control of the wildcard going into the bye either.

But I'm happily surprised by them so far this year. Rex is doing a heck of a job this year. I don't think there is anyway he can get fired at this point, which is also a huge plus!

I'm super excited for this team going forward, especially our beastly front 7 who will be feasting on Tom Brady and the rest of the AFC East for years to come.
