ATL is now 2-6 and is not looking so good. So, as this is a draft forum I'll throw this poll question out there. Which position would you draft round 1 either need / contract / lack of talent / etc.?

a true pass rushing threat like Clowney or Barr would be nice.

I have more faith in our young DEs alnd LBs than I do in our O-line. OT please.

EDIT: Or maybe even Cyril Richardson or top shelp OG talent, I see RG as the weakest link on this team

Depends what spot. If Clowney there definitely him, if not then the next best LT. There are a bunch of good ones and 2-3 possibly elite ones.

Cannot pass on Barr or Clowney if one of them is there. If not, best OLineman avail.

we cant run the ball and our passing attack is hurting as well. we NEED protection. OT has to be the pick. but wouldnt be mad with Clowney or Barr tho Smile

An elite defensive player like Clowney, Barr or Nix.

Barr seems to be better fitted for the 3-4 IMO. But I just am hesitant on taking a guy like Barr who converted from FB to DE in college and had one year where he balled out. (Jaamal Anderson anyone???) I'd rather see Clowney as I know what he can do. His work ethic is questionable but the skill set and experience is clear.

But I'd rather see us take the best O-lineman or DT Louis Nix. Both plug immediate needs. And would be the first step in building solid trenches.

I agree about Barr, great player but is meant for a 3-4 imo. Clowney would be better than nix though, both elite players and ckowney fits more of what we need.

DE/DT in the first. OL/Whichever we didn't get in first in the second. We need an impact guy on the DL bad.

Terrible comparison. Barr has already shown more college production than Anderson, who just had that one good year. Barr is on pace to have another 10 sack/20 tackle for loss season.

If we are picking in the 5 to 8 range:

1.Louis Nix
2.Anthony Barr
3.Taylor Lewan||Jake Matthews

I agree... whether we like it or not, for next season at least, we are stuck with Baker @ LT/Konz @ C/Holmes @ RT... that leaves both G positions IMO and I think Blalock is a lock for LG which leaves our RG open and I think we could take someone like Jackson in the 2nd... Our DL has A LOT less "invested in it" and I think next offseason our main focus is on the DL, but still put an emphasis on the OL obviously. I really like Barr, but the more I think about it Clowney would make more sense. If Clowney falls to us we HAVE to pull the trigger on him. Still would love Barr tho... either one of them would be that true "superstar" on our Defense.

I disagree, he could be a system guy. There is no doubt that he has put up nice numbers since his position change but the experience is not there for me over guys like Clowney or even Michael Sam who would be available in the 2nd round.
