Extend Mack ,cut weeden , sign a backup QB

I hear you but Mack already said he is not going to negotiate during the season. Right now I think like Reggie Camp there is a good chance Mack leaves. However I think if the Browns finish strong it improves our chances of resigning Mack.
As for q.b. at least Weeden knows the system. Not any q.b's out there much better. Weeden will be gone after the season I.M.O.

He might know the system but that hasn't helped at all. We are one hit to Campbell's ribs away from weeden. We need another option. They will have an extra week to learn the system and just be a back up

What option though...... As bad as Weeden is there is not much of anything out there

How about Tyler Wilson ? He's on the raiders practice squad and would be worth a look. Some people had him at a 1st round grade

yeah he would be worth it as a 3rd string QB. cant be any worse than Weeden.

Just because Mack does not want to be bothered by resigning mid season does not mean he is gone.

that is all

From everything I can gather, # Browns appear to have some level of interest in Tyler Thigpen. Still mulling over QB position

Championship.

With only two QBs, it is evident in practice the Browns are intent on keeping Brandon Weeden ready, in case.

Double championship.

Totally agree that we need to get Ward locked up, and right away. He's playing like he's one of the league's best safeties, and deserves to be paid like one.

Here's a nice article on his brilliant play:

I would actually love to see this. He was very exciting in that one year in KC, I believe he even caught a TD pass. If Campbell goes down I at least want the games to be entertaining.

Quote:
Browns released OT Rashad Butler.
Butler is a vested veteran, but must clear waivers since it's after the trade deadline. Signed in May, Butler was active for all nine games, but had played only eight snaps. Now on the wrong side of 30, Butler hasn't started a game since 2010. He's unlikely to draw interest on waivers.
