The Chargers lost in OT today. They're probably our biggest competitor for the #6 seed.

Also got to keep an eye on Tennessee, Baltimore and of course Miami.

The Titans beat Kellen Clemens and the Rams today. The Ravens are down early against the Browns. The Dolphins beat the Bengals on Thursday.

I can't believe Kellen Clemens is starting for an NFL team.

according to ESPN, we are in the 6th spot. Titans, Dolphins, and Chargers are right behind us. We are pretty much in the driver seat. Chargers still have to play the Broncs and Chiefs twice. We just need to handle Miami and hope the Titans suck

If we're worrying about our own destiny, we're going to have to beat Miami at least once anyway, and they've got another one against New England. I don't think Baltimore has played Cincinnati yet at all, and have another slugfest against Pitt at the end of the month. I would keep an eye on Tennessee, though - they've got the Colts twice and the Broncos on the schedule, but also still play the Jaguars twice too.

The Carolina Panthers are the only winning team left on our schedule.

We shouldn't get too expectant. We will be a very inconsistent team as long as our passing game is so bad (and that won't change this year with a rookie QB and our receivers). Finishing 8-8 wouldn't be bad, the playoffs would be nice but I can't see any conference title games this time for our rookie QB unfortunately.

I agree but the when we have days like today, you have to think to yourself if we do that week in week out we are a playoff team.

We need to find consistency, if we can find this we can think about making a run at the playoffs, but as you say we need to not expect it and enjoy watching these young players develop!

This is a team that is built to win in the future, it's potentially a very scary thought.

Exactly this. If we play like this every day we win most games, but then we have disasters like the Bengals game. We should enjoy having a terrifying defensive line and some flashes from a young QB. But until we sort out our receivers we'll go nowhere unless Geno suddenly becomes Tom Brady.

The good thing is we're likely getting some reinforcements. We've got Holmes, Winslow, Cumberland likely ready in two weeks and hopefully Kerley's injury isn't serious. This past week was the fourth game of Winslow's four game suspension.

If we're going to have a shot, it's dependent on getting those players back and healthy and getting Smith working well with them.

Geno just isnt an NFL QB not sure how anyone can think this inaccurate pile with awful decision making is....even on his TD run he read the play wrong and just herp derped Jordan into the endzone.

How DARE a rookie quarterback not dominate, when 3/4ths of the receiving core he entered the season with, average at best from the beginning, aren't even playing and the replacements were patched together from the free agent bin and practice squads.

I've seen some bad WR corps, but I can't believe how depleted that Jets unit is when Kerley and Holmes aren't on the field.

Also despite the lack of production in the air, Geno had no turnovers against a team that's top 10 takeaways while playing with what might currently be by far the worst WR corps in the league.

Good thing we play them Week 15. Odd number.

How many sacks would we have had if Brees didn't throw it away in the arms of someone?

Jets front seven did a great job today and won us the game, but Stephen Hill, when we needed him today he came up ZERO again. This guy is a huge mistake.

Very true. The bye is coming at a great time for us.
