Even Jeff Dickerson has been talking about how he gets the feeling that this is the year that the Bears draft a QB high.

What would your reaction be if the Bears drafted a QB in the 1st round?

Disappointed that they didn't go DL.

But depending on who is there I might not be upset, unless the plan is to start him right away.

I'm not sure this is the year to draft one in the first round but I'm all for getting "our guy".

I really think we can fix the DL without having to lock ourselves into DL in the 1st round.

We have the cap room available.

Melton healthy
Free agent
2nd
4th

That is a solid amount of talent to add to Paea and Wootton.

Indifferent.

I believe Cutler will be here next year, but beyond that I do not know. I'd like to have the best possible replacement waiting in the wings, already well-versed in this offense. So if that means taking a guy in the first, then so be it.

It depends on how they draft but for the most part I would be fine. If the Bears tag Cutler he would be 32 going on 33 by the end of next season. Barring a Kurt Warner in Arizona like renaissance Cutler will never reach he his full potential we traded for almost five years ago. Tag him, allowing the team to compete next year. Drafting a QB is sound long tern and short term planning. Cutler gets hurt every year so at some point the rookie will get snaps next season.

Its time to accept rebuilding.

On the money, Cutler needs to be here next year, lets just get that clear, but lets seriously invest in that backup QB/future guy

Lovie kept a veteran defense together but similar to what happened to our OL, the cupboard is bare....we have no young defensive guys......this team is like a year away from being 4 years away....if that makes sense, haha

My point is, a rebuild is coming in the next 2 years, so lets stock at least a decent QB

I would be okay with it.

The only position that truly matter is QB and if the Bears want to give themselves options and make sure they have the best possible player at the position.

The biggest part though is who is worth the pick. Bridgewater is gone. Maybe Hundley or Bortles if they declare. Mariotta would probably be gone. Mettenberger maybe. To early for McCarron, Morris or Boyd?

I want Trestman to draft the guy he thinks he can turn into and elite player.

If that guy is Bortles or Hundley in the 1st I want us to get that guy into the system.

I still want Cutler to start for us, but we finally have a QB coach we should get him the guy he wants while we give Cutler a year or two to win.

It won't be a waste of a 1st round pick if we have a guy to transition and take over from Cutler down the road.

I would rather they sign him for a couple of years, pick a guy in the 3rd round to develop and then try again next season. I think they really have to go defense the first round next year, CB or DL. That said, I wouldn't be too upset, probably, unless they didn't shore up the defense in free agency.

Considering that this draft is really deep at the QB position and also that the Bears most likely won't be picking in the top-10 I'd be kind of disappointed if they went QB 1st round. Besides Bridgewater I don't see one QB prospect in the 1st that jumps out and says WOW, rather I see a bunch of good QB prospects that could slide and be had in the later rounds.

Focus the first pick on defense, tag Cutler, and draft a QB somewhere between rounds 2-4.

I have no problem with the Bears drafting a QB as high as possible now that they have actual talent at the skill positions and a somewhat competent offensive line to protect him.
