Not sure if the reasons listed for leaving are true but whatever it is I hope he gets the help he needs.

yeah it was just reported on nfl network he had a breakdown earlier in the week. Sounds like hes getting overwhelmed and or battling with some depression. So hes been excused from the team and with family getting help.

Disappointing since he was looking decent at RT, but sounds like we might be search for 2 new Offensive Tackles this off season

Also dont like our chances anymore against the bengles with Tyson Columbo starting again. Maybe he plays better since he got benched, but i am thinking not

To quote myself form the NFL News thread:

Alot of Dolphins fans were hoping this kid would turn the corner, but has remained below average... and now this.

Now, it's clear that not only does he lack the strength necessary to play OT at the NFL level, but he lacks the mental toughness as well. Great.

This kid is simply not made for the NFL. Another wasted 2nd round pick... Confused

“You can approach this two different ways," Martin said last week. “You can go in the tank and be one of those guys who bitches and moans and is a cancer in the locker room, or you can be a guy who goes out there and can be a professional and plays as hard as I can."

Well I guess he went with option 1.

Rumors on twitter about a locker room division and many players unhappy with Sherman.

Hard to know what to believe but Armando is the best source for news:

For what its worth and its not worth much but I am not happy with Sherman either. I took heat for it 2 weeks ago but once the losses file in the ship will sink against the coaches Sherman and Philpin will be next. they do not put the players in position to perform to there strength they are stubborn and not the type of coaches the players will rally around.

So.....were officially rebuilding again.

I think I might just stop watching this team here after this Thursday game.

Might as well just go out back of the bar, have a hobo kick me in the nuts, and call it a day.

If only he'd asked if his mother was a prostitute.

Laughing

Seriously though... of all the things to blame Ireland for, I don't think this is one of them. Martin had plenty of issues coming out of college, but his lack of strength was chief among them, not his mental stability. As someone who has been very close to loved ones with clinical depression... they can hide it quite well if they want to, especially from people they don't know.

I am Bulls fan myself. I am guessing I'll be depressed all year long.

As far as the mental Health issue....I feel bad for the guy. We don't know what demons he is dealing with and they may have nothing to do with football. Hope the guy get the help he needs.

You never draft players that have options academically. Meaning, if they have the option to pursue a medical profession stay away because when football gets tough, and it will, they will deviate to education. This is why I like players that come up from nothing. This is their only shot at making it hence they will devote all their time at being the best.
