We have reached the halfway point of the 2013 NFL Season.

We have 1 undefeated team left in the league, the Kansas City Chiefs (who in the right mind would have thought the Chiefs?)

We still have 2 win less teams in Jacksonville and Tampa Bay

Time for some notes:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/30/eagles-confirm-nick-foles-is-this-weeks-starter/

Nick Foles has been named starter for week 9 all ready. Vick presumably re-injured his hammy

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/30/ravens-release-michael-huff-marcus-spears/

Ravens have dumped DE Marcus Spears (there goes that comp pick for him) and Saftey Michael Huff (a fan favorite amongst FA's in here for some)

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/29/eagles-and-patriots-make-a-big-deadline-day-deal/

The only Trade Deadline deal made yesterday was a deal between Eagles and Patriots. Eagles sent nose tackle Isaac Sopoaga and a sixth-round pick to the Patriots in exchange for a fifth-round pick.

Seattle takes another hit, WR Sidney Rice done for the season with a torn ACL

With all the changes they've been making along the defensive line, anyone think they try to bring Spears back for a vet minimum?

I think both would be dirt cheap. Bring them both in. Can't hurt.

Spears and Huff wouldn't be awful additions given the state of those positions. I think Huff can play corner too.

Also, Dallas wasn't getting a pick for Spears regardless, since the Cowboys cut him as opposed to just losing him to free agency.

Spears I would pass on. He isn't fast enough for what we are doing on Defense. Huff, I would bring in and take a look at. I highly doubt he anything left in the tank though. Hard to believe, because he keeps getting bounced around.

Bring them both in. We need as many able bodies as we can get at this point.

There's no way they can be worse than some of the players we've got, even if it's just as backups. I think spears might be able to plug in at the one tech.

Exactly. He could help fill out the rotation 1 tech and probably not much else. But he's familiar with the team, players, etc.

Nor should they have been impressed. Spears has not been impressive at any point in his career, dating back to his college days.
