In the final hours before the trade deadline, the Seahawks are exploring a major move.

Seattle would like to acquire defensive end Jared Allen in a deadline-day trade with the Vikings, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Not sure the pass rush was the problem last night, though it would make a great defense even better. Would rremind me alot of when we brought in Patrick Kerney late in his career

The numbers, however, make no sense and i expect this may fall through

We have no business making this trade. Our DL talent is already great. The problem is that pass rush is built to work on 3rd and long. Stop letting them run it up the gut.

We need to fix OL badly.

EDIT
69 isn't available anyway. He'll never agree to come here.

And @Mortreport says the Vikings are asking a second-round pick for Jared Allen but would consider a conditional third-round pick.

I think once Jared shows Clinton McDonald his various boar hunting knives, he make consider changing numbers.

Hmmmm RT @Vikings: The #Vikings have waived TE Chase Ford and have signed DE Justin Trattou.

Foreshadowing?

The a Titans need to jump all over this. I know the Ruston Webster values his draft picks a lot, but a chance to get Allen would put the Titans D in elite category. Their pass-rush is solid but having an a good to great PR like Allen, would help greatly.

Jay Glazer ‏@JayGlazer

Contrary to what is out there Seattle is NOT one of the teams in it for Jared Allen. Two others but Seattle is not talking to Vikes for him

That wouldn't even be fair if it happened.

I would expect SF to try to trade for Gordon in response if it did though. Laughing

Yes, because after last night what the Seahawks need are more DE's who can rush the passer....

This trade literally makes no sense at all. It'd be like New England trading for TE a couple years ago when they had Ballard, Hernandez, Shiancoe, and Gronk.

Clinton McDonald has the arms of a greek god. Nothing intimidates him

This would be a terrible trade by Seattle. For that reason, I really doubt it happens.

Glazer shut down the rumor. We need O-Line help anyway, so I'm fine with that. I'd put high picks on the table for a stud tackle or a bit less for a stud guard.

The only contending team that would actually be improved significantly by adding Jared Allen are the Pats, Lions, Bears and Packers. And I don't see the Pats making such a trade.

Yeah, doesn't sound like Seattle, but there are two teams who are interested (or at least haven't said no yet).

I'm betting the Broncos are one of them.
