Man, are the injuries ever piling up in the NFL this season. There have always been injuries in the NFL but this year there seems to be a lot more than ever before.

Wow, i've never heard that comment before.

Oh wait, i hear it every year.

Until someone actually shows me that missed games are up for one particular year, i'm going to call BS on that statement every time.

Injuries are not more frequent, but injuries to bigger named players seem to be more frequent. Usually teams lose a #2 CB or a #3 WR. This year teams are losing #1's.

And it definitely felt unnatural/weird/wrong when listening to Vollmer yell out in pain as it happened live.

I guess let's play - Packers:

LT Bryan Bulaga (16 games)
WR Randall Cobb (8 games)
TE Jermichael Finley (10 games presumably)
OLB Clay Matthews (5 games)
CB Casey Hayward (8 games)
ILB Brad Jones (4 games)
WR James Jones (2-3 games)
RB DaJuan Harris (16 games)
RB Eddie Lacy (2 games)
RB James Starks (3 games)
OLB Nick Perry (2-3 games)

And recent high draft picks:
Derek Sherrod (9+ games)
Jerel Worthy (9+ games)

I guess we're fortunate that some of these guys have shots to return by the end of the season, but we know the injury train won't stop here, so who knows whose next on the hit list. May have missed a couple here and there and I know at one point we were at risk of not even having 46 healthy bodies for game day.

For those keeping score at home that amounts to
Starting LT
Starting WR
Starting TE
Pro Bowl OLB
Starting CB (Our best CB)
Starting ILB
#3 WR who lead the league in TDs a year ago
And our other starting OLB

This makes 2010 and 2012 look like nothing. It's insane how deep this Packers team is. TT Ftw

And still a top 5 team in the league..

He's German. They're allergic to happiness.

I'm definitely interested in seeing what Cannon can do as a starter.

The guy was a beast headed into the draft before the cancer.

He was so athletic for that size... and powerful to boot. Would just destroy guys. If he performs well, that would be a pretty good story considering what he battled back from.

I still think his better fit is at RG. He doesn't seem like a natural fit at Tackle with our offense

I'm sure he will enjoy the Schadenfreude, though.

I don't think that applies when oneself is the butt of the joke.

Good thing the Pats play in that bad division. Come playoff time those injuries will be felt.

The AFC East has the third highest win total in the NFL behind only the AFC West and NFC West...

W/ Svitek out it seems like he may have spent more time at OT. But this yr subbing in he's looked more comfortable as a RT than RG.

Patriots would be a lot better If they didnt have Pee Wee receivers. They brought some of this on themselves
