Rumours floating around that Arizona will trade Larry F.
He's maybe just a year older than you'd like him, but maybe so
is Ben..

Would you trade a first for him - for a 3-4 year run?

Or keep the pick, stay the rebuilding course?

The team is getting their asses kicked by the Raiders, and someone is talking about trading high draft picks for a WR in his 30's who makes as much as top tier QB's...?

He would help, but only if massively restructured.

The Patriots would have reason to trade for Fitzgerald. The Steelers are not one player away, and today put the final nail in the coffin of anyone who thinks they are. Trading for a high priced WR would be asinine.

Fitzgerald is my current favorite non-Steeler player but they should not trade a first rounder for him.

Devil's Advocate:

Would you rather spend a 1st on Evans or Watkins or Lee

OR...
Larry Fitzgerald

I'll take Larry Fitzgerald with Ben for a few years, personally.

However, if we "stink" bad enough to be in the top 5 to get a legit LT, then no, I wouldn't trade our 1st, but if we end up with pick 11 or later, then yes, Fitz ALL DAY!!! over anyone else outside the top 10.

LOL he's due over $12 million next year.

Have you seen the Steelers cap situation next year?

You'd probably have to trade Ben to afford him. Laughing

But in all sincerity, trading for Fitzgerald is a move you make if you're a piece away from a championship. The Steelers are in a forced rebuilding stage with their best players on the downside of their careers. This team needs more picks, more cheap young players, and less veterans bloating the salary cap.

I just hope some good team trades for him. Not the Pats or Ravens though. That would be painful.

Unless this is Madden with the salary cap option turned off, aint going to happen.

If he were cut, Id seriously look at him, but even then we likely couldnt come close to what other teams would offer.

I love Larry but I'm not trading a top ten pick for him. I'd consider a 2nd but still what could we get in the 1st that would drastically change the team. Too many holes on the team. Numbers don't work either. Larry isn't getting cut or taking a pay cut. He's worth every cent of that 100M

I can imagine it...and its quite lovely.

Just like I can imagine Calvin Johnson with Ben, or JJ Watt on our defense.

Or imagine a fun night with Scarlett Johanssen and Jessica Alba.

Imagine....mmmm. Laughing

exactly. You trade away something like that when you have a smart OC, a competent HC and GM, and a DC who doesn't produce a defense totally unprepared for 1-trick ponies like Tim Tebow and Terrelle Pryor

Fitz is my favorite player in the NFL other than Troy and JJ Watt, but no chance would he be enough, even if he did restructure the entirety of his contract

He's only an Ike, Troy, Clark, and Heath cut away.........
