Week Eight: London We Outchea

The San Francisco 49ers (5-2)

@ (London)

Your Jacksonville Jaguars (0-7)

That's our helmets on the grass in London.

And so begins our London series.

Things of note:
- Gabbert has officially been benched for now.
- Ace Sanders will return. Yes, he's back from his concussion injury, but also he will be returning punts full time. The receiving corps being healthy and Mike Brown's big game last week allowed this to be possible.
- For the first time all season, we should have all our weapons.

Start at WR non-ppr:

Cecil Shorts or Anquan Boldin?

I feel like the 49ers murder us so Shorts will get alot of garbage time opportunities but the 49ers have to get a big lead somehow and Boldin is their only WR

Depends. Do the Jags play more zone or man? Boldin torched Green Bay in zone, but has been locked down pretty well in man.

Anyway, good luck Jags fans. Just hoping for no injuries.

What has he done against other zone defenses though?

It's the man-cover 3 hybrid that Seattle runs.

It is not just about what Boldin does well, but Kaepernick does better against zone defenses. Teams that are able to play press coverage against our sub-par WRs really give us problems. But the last two weeks Kaepernick has picked it up and in part it is due to Davis. End of the day though, just expect a heavy dose of the run game. Also, the run option was used much more last week than it has been for the entire season.

I don't really expect any of our WRs to blow up in this game, then. As Jay said, it has to do with Kaepernick, too. He's been getting better, but his read progression is still suspect until proven otherwise.

As Jay also said, expect a run-heavy offense with the occasional play action and read option. I expect Kaepernick to look to Vernon Davis most of the time.

Depends, our defense in garbage time is prone to allowing TDs themselves. An interesting stat, once teams get in the red zone, they score at a 70% rate.

I really hope we can play well over there. Would be absolutely huge to get the upset, obviously i'm not going to hold my breath though.

Hope we get a good game from the offense and JB goes off.

So according to the people that I follow on Twitter who made the trip over to London, there's a good portion of natives in London that are already starting to show support for the team.

Marketing campaigns work. Who'd have thunk it....

The Tower of London is sick. The Beefeaters who live there are funny as hell.

And this is why London is so important to the Jaguars.
