Awesome news for us IMO.

http://www.giants101.com/2013/10/24/jon-beason-hopes-to-remain-a-new-york-giants-linebacker-for-life-doesnt-plan-on-leaving-after-2013/

Quote:
“I don’t plan on going anywhere, ever. Ever,” Beason said today. “I was talking to (special assistant for player development/assistant coach) Jessie Armstead. I was, ‘Man, when I’m done (playing) I want a job like you. Whatever it is you do, you’re still wearing the uniform. Thus far, the city has been real cool. It’s a great group of guys. They’ve welcomed me like I was a draft pick here. I’m happy. I want to be contributing.”

Let me give you my personal opinion, on what I think has happened.
It all started with the release of the coke machine in Brandon Jacobs.

Hey, go away with your logic Laughing

This is awesome news if he decides to stay faithful to his word.

Glad to have him. Man is it a pleasure to watch an actual NFL linebacker line up on defense.

Lmao 2 weeks on the team and we're already calling for him to run the team. Haha sad, but it's true.

Hahaha. At very least he is consistent. He hated the move from jump street. I wasn't exactly screaming from the mountain tops about Beason either, but I don't think losing a 5th rounder is some tremendous loss for our future.

Beason has exceeded everyones expectations, anyone who says otherwise is a bald faced liar. It's been a joy to see competent LB play. If he stays healthy we could build a respectable LB unit around him.

So he's been playing well for you guys? I'm glad. I think all but the most jaded fans are rooting for him. Hope he continues kicking butt for you guys.

Defense has been a completely different unit with him out there.

He has been incredible. His U buddy Antrel Rolle has said that the defense is a completely different unit since Beason's arrival. The Giants have allowed 1 defensive TD since Beason took over as the starting MLB, and that was only because Jerrel Jernigan fumbled a kickoff and the Raiders got 1st and Goal at the 5. Granted, the Giants have played three lousy QBs in that span, but the Giants are famous for making backup QBs look like studs.
