See, when I read that^ statistic it just seems like our guys racked up a ton of yardage in the first few games when teams had no idea what to expect or how to defend. I mean, I'm sure the Redskins used pre-season film, with the chance they looked at some Oregon tendencies.

Not that I'm unhappy with Shady leading the league in yardage. I do believe Vick elevates Shady's opportunities in the run, but I don't think it's responsible for the sheer explosiveness in the first few games this year which frankly inflated a lot of our stats.

I forgot the term but its both what you said and the fact Foles isn't a threat on read option or blocking schemes that give the impression of a read which is a huge portion of the run game. So when the plays look like run LBs are staying home. This is also an indication to Ertz becoming slightly more involved and the increase in passing, because those LBs are sitting/waiting on McCoy. Every Defense in the league wants to stop the run first. If your getting gashed up front it doesn't matter because the offense will always be in good 3rd downs (<5yds)

We couldn't go much lower.

Fletcher is quietly compiling some good stats. His 11 pass break-ups leads the team, is second-best in the NFL and ties a career high for a season. Quarterbacks are completing only 50 percent of their throws in his direction, per Pro Football Focus.

This is progress at least. The D has sucked less as of late.

I knew Fletch would be pretty good as long as he could stay healthy

How beastly would this offense be with Cam Newton. He's exactly the type of QB we need to run this offense. A big, mobile guy who can throw a football.

Him and Shady would be a deadly combination on read option plays. I think it would be better overall, for sure. The problem with Cam is he seems to let his emotions get the best of him too often. If he stays focused, Cam's potential to be great is literally unlimited.

Btw, I was wrong about him in my pre-draft projections when he came out. I thought he would bust hard.

Good article making a case for Damaris to see more snaps at WR.

http://www.bleedinggreennation.com/2013/10/25/5023446/philadelphia-eagles-case-for-damaris-johnson

They suggest replacing some of Avant's snaps. I think Chip could start by putting Damaris in for any snaps Maehl would get.

Hundley has a very similar skill set to Cam, except he is probably a better thrower and not as good on the run.
