Moeaki reached an injury settlement with the Chiefs. He is on waivers now, and the Steelers are reportedly looking into make a claim, if they feel comfortable with his injury history
.

Don't know how credible the source is, but if healthy I love the potential as a #2 TE in passing and red zone situations.

Has he just been injured constantly or what?

I remember hearing about him looking real good a while ago so I'm confused as to why they cut him. He couldn't have been that pricey

He was a beast his rookie year but he got injured and missed his entire sophomore season. He hasn't been the same since.

Chiefs also just drafted Kelce and maybe they are confident he can be a good TE.

Uhh... Yes, it does. It makes perfect sense. Are you okay with our #2 TE option? Laughing

I think Paulson is a decent receiver, and the team is already using Will Johnson more off the line as a FB. They also reserved a spot for Spaeth. If they sign another TE now it just makes the decision to waste the IR tag on him even more moronic than it already was.

Makes a lot of sense and I suggested as such when he was released. He was drafted by Haley I believe. He was excellent coming out of Iowa, Paulson is not half the player Moeaki can be at 50%.

Mulling it? They need to DO IT! before someone else does!!!

Seriously, I'm not trying to sell this guy off like he's Jimmy Graham but he's damn sure better than our #2 TE right now.

I saw somewhere that he passed through waivers unclaimed. Guess either no one wanted to pay him what his contract was, or his injury is still pretty bothersome.

The only talent this kid lacks is health.

Durability concerns coming out of college and three straight NFL seasons ending on IR.

Gotta wonder if the accumulation of injuries hasn't sapped his juice.

Since he went thru waivers unclaimed he goes to the Chiefs IR.

Hi CK:

David Paulson has been a disappointment in my eyes. The team had a lot of expectations for him and he has been very inconsistent catching and his blocking is horrible. Paulson has potential, but it has been unrealized in his production on game day.

Many of us liked Kelce as a potential draft pick-up, but after the Steelers signed DJ and Spaeth and the fact they had Paulson, the team obviously went in another direction.

Finally, I disagree about the roster spot. The game has changed and having three or four TE's (well good TE's) is not a bad thing. Miller, Spaeth, Moeaki and Paulson is a decent set of TE's. That may help the offense get red zone TD's instead of FG's.

Tony would give the Steelers some vertical ability in the passing game at TE, size and a good red zone threat. He is better than anyone else on the roster at TE not named Heath.
