It was a semi tough night for Patrick Peterson he produced some very good coverage for the most part, but in a tough (and poor) matchup against Golden Tate he struggled at times. He made a couple of technical errors that allowed his man to make a catch. These are the kinds of games that Patrick needs to eliminate if he really wants to take the next step into the truly elite.

Yeremiah Bell is kind of bad in coverage...Moving on.

We are still seeing confusion at times in the secondary and that is not a good thing. People not being 100% sure of their assignments and the defense ending up with two guys covering one while another runs around freely.

Karlos Dansby looked better, but he completely lost the TE Davis at the GL for the Seahawks third passing touchdown of the game. Daryl Washington has Wilson covered if he took off the run, Dansby needed to stick to his man.

Jerraud Powers had a solid game by the numbers, and he had a quietly solid game in coverage, no glaring errors on the first watch.

Overall the defense played pretty well against the pass, but giving up 230 yards and 3 scores is what happens when you have a single big weak link (Bell) and have that link being exposed by a very good QB (Wilson).

I am not 100% sure why we decided to use Patrick Peterson to shadow Golden Tate. For me the better matchup would have been to use Peterson on Rice and either Powers or Mathieu on Tate. Peterson has historically struggled with smaller shiftier receivers and it showed up on the field again with Tate using his agility and sharp routes to create separation from Peterson on more than one occasion. It is not the first time where matchups have proven an issue for the Cardinals this season, they have the ongoing issues with Tight Ends to still figure out.

We are nearly halfway through the season and Bell has allowed 6 touchdowns in 7 games. That is unacceptable, abysmal, insert synonym for bad. We need improved safety play like we need improved Quarterback play. Immediately.

Probably, but that creates another issue at nickel corner.

They really need to give Tony Jefferson a crack at taking Bell's job.

Absolutely - I second that. Jefferson is a rookie and will make mistakes - but could actually learn and grow from them. That and you get the bonus of a young guy who can make athletic plays from time to time.

Bell makes mistakes and that's just a veteran in serious decline.
