Scenario:
~Green Bay wins the Super Bowl
~We are awarded the 32nd overall pick in the draft

Departures:
~Jermichael Finley: I just think this injury is going to be it for him. Bruised spinal cord is something very serious. I think he is going to hang ‘em up.
~James Jones: GB has a lot of money tied up, Jones may be the odd man out.

Resign:
~BJ Raji

Means too much for our defense, and a NT is essential to a 3-4. Worth it to lock him up.

With the 32nd pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select...
Austin Seferian-Jenkins TE Washington
6’6” 266 lbs. 4.60/40

Gigantic, physical, and fast! Seferian-Jenkins gives us a dangerous weapon for our suddenly depleted weapons for Rodgers.

He fits the mold of a MM TE, able to line up wide or tight against the line. As a receiver, he’s big, strong, and gets a ton of YAC.

As the OL and defense grow leaps and bounds, the biggest concern I have for this team moving forward is the depleted receivers.

Seferian-Jenkins would go a long way toward alleviating that concern.

With the 64th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select...
Marqise Lee WR USC
6’0” 190 lbs. 4.40/40

Classic TT WR draftee. Tall, good hands, can play all three WR positions, has good body control, and lots of leadership. Additionally, he’s hard to tackle and good at evading tacklers and picking up YAC.

Lee’s draft stock has taken a substantial hit due to poor QB play. Bad for him, but good for us!

Again, this team will need to give Rodgers weapons, or it risks missing it’s window.

With the 96th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select...
David Yankey G/OT Stanford
6’5” 311 lbs. 5.05/40

Some OL is always needed for a team that has their legendary QB hit over and over and over again. Yankey would go a long way to fixing that problem. The guy is nasty, athletic, excels at both run and pass blocking.

Where will he fit in? I dunno. I do know we could use some more skill along the OL and he would help that.

With the 132nd pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select...
Kasen Williams WR Washington
6’2” 216 lbs. 4.55/40

A big, thick, strong WR with excellent leaping ability, and tough to tackle. Adding playmakers has to be a priority, and we could really use at least two legit WR prospects.

Williams is a good one...

With the 154th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select...
Jeff Mathews QB Cornell
6’4” 229 lbs. 4.78/40

Highly accurate QB with prototypical size and build. Mechanics and football knowledge are still a little raw, but he could be a good developmental prospect to mold as our future backup QB.

Probably a PS candidate, but after that...

With the 182nd pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select...
J.C. Copeland FB LSU
6’1” 280 lbs. 4.77/40

I know what you are going to say, it doesn’t make sense to draft a FB in today’s NFL. I hear ya, but…

Green Bay’s newfound commitment to the running game makes a good strong FB a need. Copeland is about as good as it gets as a lead blocker, he is strong, powerful, and plays smart.

I think this guy could really help our power run game in short yardage situation.

With the 210th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select...
Andrew Miller C Virginia Tech
6’4” 293 lbs. 5.18/40

A darn good C prospect, who lacks upper body strength, but has played well this year, with smarts and nastiness. Could be a good interior OL prospect for the future.

I get the love for ASJ, but do you really think a prospect like that lasts that long?

He'll probably last at least that long....

Eric Ebron and Jace Amaro are probably in a tier above.

At this point, it is anyone's guess. Every year people want to determine where someone is going to go by this point. Every year it changes, usually drastically.

No one had Eric Fisher as the #1 overall pick at this point last year. Heck, Datone Jones was considered a midround pick at this point last year.

I typically pay no attention to positioning until at least after the combine.

So, that said, no one has told me what they think of it...

Lee and Jenkins will be gone before the packers first pick. Barring another arrest/suspension of course. Granted, anyone who had lacy going where he did would have been ridiculed as well so you never know.

See the research I have has Jenkins a fringe Top 25 prospect. Lee has a 2nd-3rd round grade.

I guess the hard part about prospects at this point is trying to determine which websites know what they are talking about and which ones are blowing smoke.

I really think both of these guys could slide, especially Lee. The guy's production is down, and the blame is usually USC's QB play, not exactly his fault.

I think that could make him considerably undervalued...

I've seen a lot of ASJ=Mercedes Lewis and Lee=Maclin comparisons. What do you guys think?

Also, Pauline said he's heard Yankey's going to declare this year, FWIW.

I don't see either Lee or ASJ falling that far.

I'd be ecstatic, though. ASJ is the next Jimmy Graham

We are going to get multiple comp picks, might as well take a shot at them if you're going to mock.

I like the 1st two picks. Not the rest. We are going to be loaded at tackle and guard at the start of camp, even with Newhouse moving on. (Bulaga, Bak, Barclay, Sherrod, Sitton, Lang, Taylor, Tretter, Van Roten, etc etc. I really doubt we take one until late. A center 3 or 4 maybe. We need a safety and believe we will take on fairly early talent allowing. I really doubt we draft a FB, of course anything can happen. Two WR's, we've done it as recently as last year but doubtful. I believe Jones will be back. With Starks moving on I see more of a need at RB (even with Franklin and Harris spelling Lacy) than dual WR's. With Pickett and possibly Wilson moving on we'll draft a D-lineman, and I believe early. Biggest areas of need are TE, S, DL, C in my estimation. We'll draft LB's too.

No safety???? there must be safety......preferably no later than day 2.

and thats waiting an awfully long time for a center too.

Those are two crisis positions for us that need addressing asap.

I like Lee at that value, and i also like Matthews as a developmental QB.....though i get the feeling that guy is gonna skyrocket come workouts and interviews.

There's a lot of time left though, plus Kliff told him to leave too.
