Apparently, convenient or not, Peterson has been dealing with a hamstring injury for four of five weeks.

is there a point this season where we just shut him down for the year? Injured or not?

Has any team actually have done this with a star player for a minor ding? Teams simply don't shut down players to preserve for next year, that seems to be a fan driven expectation. Frazier is fighting for his job, why would he bench his best player when he may not be on the team next year.

I guess I didn't mean a ding, just when the season isn't going any where.

So, Ponder is gonna be playing with quite the chip on his shoulder.

Anyway he goes HAM and plays lights out?

COULD YOU IMAGINE

That would pump up his trade value prior to the deadline.

Think

or be the Vikings Franchise QB!

but I guess that'll never happen, because in order to be the Franchise QB in Minnesota you have to:

coach the team, run the ball, block, catch the passes, block, throw the ball (obviously), tackle, sack the QB, force fumbles (and then recover them), intercept the ball and of course score all the touchdowns while kicking the ball as well.

Guys, Ponder will never be our Franchise QB. Here's to hoping Josh Freeman fits that description!

It's AD we are talking about. Can you see him remotely accepting this?

The good news is they don't have CMIII.

That bad news is this will be another public execution.

I'd say here's to a good game with no injuries, but I know better now than to expect us to make it through a game without someone new needing surgery.

So here's to a good game.

Cheers to hopin'!

I do believe the Vikes have to play a real and solid game this week, even if they lose. If it spirals out of control -- like most predict -- it'll get ugly in the media, in the field house and in the locker room. (As if it's not already)

Something tells me these guys are going to rally this week, just a feeling. Yes, I do hope the Vikes win, but more importantly, I want them to give us a reason to watch the rest of the season. Really, last year, they went 3-1 in the first four games, then 2-2 and then 1-3 to wind up 6-6 heading into the final four games of the year.

So, they've endured a 3-5 record over an eight game span before -- why the heck not start changing that course now?

The last thing I want is to have to speculate on, and debate, new coaches and some rookie QB or whatever.

For the record, I am concerned about what's going on behind closed doors between Frazier, Spielman, Studwell and the Wilfs. ---- there's some smoke and mirrors going on with these guys. I firmly believe Singletary, Musgrave, Pagac, and especially Woods are guys that need to be shown the door -- sooner rather than later. I suspect Frazier's protecting Singletary and Musgrave . . . and someone else is protecting Woods and Pagac. It's quite a dynamic we'll find out more about as the season unfolds.

All I need to know is that when Dunbar was here, the D-line dominated and could cover for a weak secondary. Now he's with the Jets, and where does their defense and defensive line rank? And, how's our secondary playing?

Yes people! Coaching matters. The Vikes have the talent, but not the results! Coaches more than any aspect of this team need to fuel the need to win. If they don't put in the time, don't exhibit the care and energy, why would the players?

How does a win help this team? We aren't making the playoffs starting 1-6.

I don't really want to lose a top 10 pick.
