Personally for me, I think we should get a FS and a CB with our 1st two picks.

Heck I'd even trade down with our 1st to get extra picks. For example, trade the 1st for a 2nd and a 4th.

2nd a.) CB Marcus Roberson
2nd b.) FS Ed Reynolds
3rd) OLB Michael Sam

With our 1st 3 picks do that. Then with our 2 4ths, draft the best OT (Seantrel Henderson maybe?) and best KR/PR(no idea who).

It sucks because it leaves our WR need still a need, but I guess we'll have to pull another Kenny Stills out of the hat Very Happy

Never forget... play the odds with your mock!

Ever since Rob Ryan has been a DC, the teams he has worked for when they used either their 1st or 2nd round pick on a defender in the draft only once (Raiders) used a 2nd rounder one year on a linebacker. ALL OTHER picks were defensive backs!!!

Ryan covets and sees quality DB's as a premium and this year is a deep corner class. Honestly CS... I'd be SHOCKED if CB is not our top pick if we go with a defender.

Sean Payton controls the draft room. I'd be shocked if we didn't go OT.

I think we are good at WR for at least one more season.

We need to get that O-Line fixed pronto. Ingram is actually showing life and we need to allow him to run. Besides, we are deep at RB... one of them can take Sproles spot at PR/KR.

REPEAT: Need to fix O-Line first, the other top needs are CB/FS and OLB.

Would normally agree Harp but the Saints will be picking towards the end of the 1st... by then all the top tackles will be gone (my opinion). Unless he trades up (which i'd disagree with) I see OT as a want but no where near BPA when we select in round 1. Also wasn't suggesting Ryan would control the draft room... only pointing out that IF the Saints went defender in round 1-2 Ryan would have a big input and his history shows he prefers DB's early.

Love the positions and where we're taking them in this one.

Very good mock! I just don't feel WR and RB are such a need as to be addressed in the draft. However, if the Saints address the needs in FA and rounds 1, 2, and 3 then I'd definatety could see going offensive BPA/depth/future starter.

I agree with everyone else. Really good mock my friend!

I guess I only have 2 issues (you knew it was coming!):

1.) Lack of FS taken. With Harper being a cap space sacrifice, and Jenkins probably not back, we're left with IAQ and Bush as our S's to pair with Kenny V. When you also consider that we play with 3 safety sets fairly often, I think we need to draft a S in the first 3 rounds.

2.) This is just personal preference, but I wouldn't mind spending a higher pick on a better WR prospect. Colston is slowing down and all the damage he has taken will eventually take a toll on his body. Stills looks great, Moore's play looks to have fallen off a cliff, and Toon has shown little. Morgan.....well we're not sure what we'll see when he's back. A decent WR prospect would really ease any concerns we have with the receiving core.

Still, I really like this mock. Do you think Jeffcoat has the athleticism to be a 3-4 OLB? I always thought he was a lock for a 4-3 DE.

I do feel Jeffcoat has the tools to be a very good OLB in Ryan's scheme. Ryan rarely ask his OLB's to drop into coverage but Jeffcoat has very good athletic ability and is a very versatile prospect. Much like Kenny Vaccaro, Jeffcoat is a very good player on a very bad defense.

I like it.. Would've been better if we could have gotten an offensive weapon of some sort IMO.
