San Francisco 49ers (5-2) vs Jacksonville Jaguars (0-7)

Rankings:

Jaguars
Passing Yards: 23rd
Rushing Yards: 32nd
Passing Defense: 14th
Rushing Defense: 32nd

49ers
Passing Yards: 31st
Rushing Yards: 3rd
Passing Defense: 6th
Rushing Defense: 17th

The Jags have allowed an average of 153 yards a game, on the ground, so we obviously have to run as much as we can. Defensively, we need to bottle up MJD. He's having a down year, but so has our run defense. As long as we can do what we did against the Titans, then we should be good.

I think I'd rather lose to the Seahawks than Jaguars this year. Would just be embarrassing and demoralizing as a fan although it could be a good wake up call for a team (not that we need one; we look great lately). They showed they can compete with elite teams (Denver) if you don't take them seriously and I wouldn't be surprised to see them have a good showing seeing as they're on an international stage.

Have to expect a pretty easy win. Just need to be cautious.

The Jaguars actually have competed fairly well the last two weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if the game is tight for much of the first half before we open it up.

Blackmon and Shorts will need to be accounted for.

32nd ranked run D? Harbaugh is going to lose his mind game planning for this game. Too bad for LaMike that he'll probably be inactive, because he might have gotten 10 garbage time carries with the amount of times I bet Harbaugh plans to run it.

Final total carries prediction:

Gore: 22
Hunter: 12
Kaepernick: 8
Dixon: 8
Miller: 2
Other: 2

Total: 54 Smile

Saw on the ticker last night that Gus Bradley was leaving the team due to the death of his father, a little more for the Jags to play for.

This game should be handled with relative ease. There is always that chance as it is the NFL. I like the Niners getting to London and making it as normal of a week as possible. I wish the NFL would stop with the overseas games though. Its just more added strain on the teams and players. At least they placed the bye week after this game.

Niners will run a ton and I am expecting to see a little flare from the Niners. Some kind of fake or gadget play. Got to show off on the International level.

Kaep goes 21-28 for 252 yards 2TD/OINT 6 rushes for 58 yards 1TD

Gore 18 rushes for 118 yards 1 TD
Hunter 10 rushes 60 yards 1TD
Dixon 4 rushes 20 yards

Boldin 6 rec 82 yards 1TD
Davis 5 rec 117 yards 1TD

Justin Smith 2 more sacks

Niners win 38-6

I'll say we get over 200 yards rushing. 200+ passing yards. Probably a pick or two. We take this game 37-16. I say they get one garbage TD at the end.

Funny. My buddy had Cutler and Martin last week. I laughed at him because I play him this week. He too has MJD and will be forced to play him

Thought I'd post some stats for both teams.

San Francisco:

Offense:

Total yards - 335 per game - 17th
Passing yards - 191.7 per game - 31st
Rushing yards - 143.3 per game - 3rd
Points - 25.1 per game - 11th
Quarterback hits allowed - 25 - 4th
Sacks allowed - 15 - Tied for 9th

Defense:

Total yards allowed - 326.1 per game - 8th
Passing yards allowed - 219.4 per game - 6th
Rushing yards allowed - 106.7 per game - 18th
Points allowed - 19.3 per game - Tied for 7th
Sacks - 17 - 20th
Interceptions - 9 - tied for 6th

Jacksonville:

Offense:

Total yards - 282 per game - 32nd
Passing yards - 219 per game - Tied for 21st
Rushing yards - 63 per game - 32nd
Points - 10.9 per game - 32nd
Quarterback hits allowed - 47 - 26th
Sacks allowed - 28 - 32nd

Defense:

Total yards allowed - 391.4 - 28th
Passing yards allowed - 238.1 - 14th
Rushing yards allowed - 153.3 - 32nd
Points allowed - 31.7 - 32nd
Sacks - 11 - 29th
Interceptions - 3 - Tied for 25th

On paper, this is a very lopsided game. But, it's in London, and anything can happen. Normally, I'd be more scared to play a winless team that's still trying to claw out that first win. I just think it would take a lot of things to go wrong for us and they'd need to play lights out. The elephant in the room is that winning, at this point, isn't very good strategy for the Jaguars. But, these are sports players. They've been competing their whole lives. They're still going to come out to play.

I don't think we prepare much for them and our offense struggles. Fortunately, so does theirs and we capitalize on a turnover.

27-10 Niners.

this has "trap game" written all over it. its like those last couple of minutes in your last class on a friday back when you were in high school. Too busy looking forward to the weekend (bye week) and miss some important details. We need to stay focused like we are playing a 7-0 team and not a 0-7 team.

This isn't even a trap game. The Jaguars are TOO bad. I literally can't see them beating us at this point. Their offensive line is putrid. Henne's a TO machine. Their defense was recently called out by the head coach for not playing hard enough. This team is a trainwreck, and even if we play terribly we should be able to pull out a win pretty easily. It would take a MASSIVE meltdown in all three phases of the game to lose this one. I just don't see it happening.

Oh, I don't think anyone thinks we will lose, but it could actually be a closer game than many believe. The Jags have A LOT of holes on both sides of the ball, but still have some talented players from their skill positions. Really, you have to rank Blackmon and Shorts as one of the best WR duos we have faced all season. But end of the day they are terrible at stopping the run, and we are one of the best so the outcome shouldn't be much of a question.

Only stat that matters. We're just going to run the ball down their throats all day.

Agreed. This could be a huge game for Gore. He's already 4th in the NFL in rushing yardage.

(1)LeSean Mccoy:

Attempts: 141
Attempts per game: 20.1
Yards: 685
Average: 4.9
Yards per game: 97.9
Touchdowns: 3
Fumbles: 1

(2)Marshawn Lynch:

Attempts: 138
Attempts per game: 19.7
Yards: 578
Average: 4.2
Yards per game: 82.6
Touchdowns: 6
Fumbles: 2

(3)Jamaal Charles:

Attempts: 135
Attempts per game: 19.3
Yards: 561
Average: 4.2
Yards per game: 80.1
Touchdowns: 6
Fumbles: 3

(4)Frank Gore:

Attempts: 127
Attempts per game: 18.1
Yards: 547
Average: 4.3
Yards per game: 78.1
Touchdowns: 5
Fumbles: 1

(5)Arian Foster

Attempts: 121
Attempts per game: 17.3
Yards: 542
Average: 4.5
Yards per game: 77.4
Touchdowns: 1
Fumbles: 0

With a big game from Gore, he could take over the number 3 spot since KC plays the Browns, a top 10 rush defense. Unfortunately, Philly plays the Giants and Seattle plays the Rams, so those top two spots are held solidly for now.

I'll admit it, I don't mind stat padding a little. Laughing
