I would take anythig we could get for Davis. I hope we can use what ever pick we get to move up in the second round to invest in better quality rather than quantity!!

At this point we're going to be sitting near the top of the 2nd round anyways.

No I think you misunderstood. I want to move up from round 3 and 4 to have two 2nd round picks ----2nd 2nd 5th 6th 7th

I suppose I wouldn't be totally against that. However, usually you see future picks involved with trades like that as well, for our 3rd and 4th it would probably take at least our future 3rd as well to get that done. That seems like a lot to give up.

I want to know why Davis isn't playing.

Garcon is not getting open reliably (or RG3 isn't finding him). Morgan and Moss have done nothing. Hankerson is unreliable, at best. Logan Paulson is a blocker who can get a five yard route once in a while. Paul is special teams.

If Davis is a healthy scratch, why?

Is Kyle Shanahan unable to develop a use for him? Or is he (or Mike) unwilling to?

We're about to play a team that gives up the most yards to tight ends. We have two athletic, pass catching tight ends. Why is there no way to get both of them in to this game, especially given how poorly our receivers are playing?

1. Jordan Reed

2. he's a liability as a blocker and always has been.

Everyone of those players you mentioned are instrumental to every part of our running game.

We aren't going go out pass the broncos and beat them, we're going to run the ball, control clock and make big plays on the ground to set up play action and bootleg plays to our Wrs and Jordan Reed.

Frankly, we don't need Fred Davis. He can't block like any of those players you mentioned and he's not as good as a receiver as Jordan Reed. Reed is a way better blocker than I expected, he obviously worked extremely hard in that this offseason.

I think in the past, we were hoping Fred Davis could be used like Vernon Davis, but he never quite had that athletic ability. He also had the injury to his achillies and I think that affects his explosion.

Still, the main point is blocking. Our blocking got better last year when Fred got hurt because Paulsen and Paul are better blockers. It's also not a shock that our blocking got better this year after Fred was benched in favor of Jordan Reed and Paulsen and Paul were used more as blockers, rather than having Fred out there who missed some blocks.

not a surprise, he's more valuable to us even if he's deactivated right now. We may need him in the future
