Texans waived RB Cierre Wood, DE Sam Montgomery, OLB Willie Jefferson. Sources say they violated team rules at KC hotel. Got sent home.

What the heck? Who will be the number 3 RB now? Do we take Graham off the practice squad?

Montgomery is a bust draft pick for us. Another one o our draft picks this year that is off the team now. Rolling Eyes

The Texans gave no explanation for releasing the three rookies, all of whom were inactive for Sunday’s 17-16 loss to the Chiefs, but a person familiar with the situation said they were waived because they violated unspecified team rules at their Kansas City hotel on Saturday.

That's unfortunate.

The Texans completely blew a 3rd round pick on Montgomery and got nothing in return. I'm sure we can pick up a good 3rd team RB.

I'm disappointed in losing Jefferson. I thought we had found a good one there

It's freaking pathetic that out of Rick Smith's 13 2nd/3rd round picks, the only one that has basically amount to anything is Jacoby Jones.

Not surprised by this. He was kicked out of Baylor and the people I know who knew him all describe him as "An idiot".

What makes me angriest is that literally everyone saw Montgomery being a bust, yet the Texans took a flier on him despite his red flags, which they literally NEVER do for players. I didn't understand it then, and I don't understand it now.

My guess is it will be a while before they draft another player with character issues.

Had to be smoking at the hotel or something along those lines. Really disappointed in Willie, but whatever.

Secondly I think it's really time to take a step back and reevaluate Rick Smith as GM. Especially if Kubiak is let go as the HC.

Let's stop speculating and only post news or relevant facts, please.

Their history with weed are facts and wouldn't be complete speculation.

Anyway, how quick to you think we sign Forsett to the active roster to be the RB 3

Montgomery just made a statement. "I made a childish mistake. No illegal substances were involved.

If they got cut for a missed curfew I'll be pissed.

Well, I guess this explains why we only dressed 2 RBs yesterday.

Can somebody please plant a pound of weed in Joe Marciano's luggage or send him some hookers and blow, as apparently that's the only thing you can do to lose your job with the Texans.

Funny, I mentioned all 3 of these guys in my "post bye week" plans. While I certainly would have liked to have seen what they had to offer, I support the Texans quick trigger when it comes to players who fail to live up to the character requirements of this team. They will make fine additions to the Jets, Lions, Rams, Raiders or Titans rosters. This season may be going down in flames, but at least we don't have to lose AND employ players like Janoris Jenkins and Mike Mitchell who were complete embarassments this week (yes, I believe Steve Smith's version of events).

Rick Smith and his staff have absolutely fumbled the past two drafts beyond the first 2 rounds this year and accountability needs to happen there with whomever allowed the Montgomery pick to happen with that character that was apparent on day one as well as whomover did the medical on Brennan Williams and Ed Reed.

Color me surprised about Montgomery. Like I said before the draft, the one guy I didn't want from LSU. Sure enough, the Texans draft him. Mad

Boys we are in some serious trouble DEPTH is something that we thought that we have had. Its looking like we got complacent during the drafts and started to take some risks on players with flags. I really think that we need some bad boys on this team. We got one in Swearinger and I was hoping that Montgomery would follow in the footsteps of Swearinger but I was wrong. We need to really restructure some contracts and FIX our Oline. To me that is priority number one. Better offense will help our defense.
