I still think Bud got unfairly criticized in Nashville. Outside of pushing to get VY drafted and insisting on Peyton last year. What sort of meddling has he done that everyone has been so accusing of?

Where exactly was he cheap? Most of the moves made to not resign players were A) usually correct decisions and B) FO and coaching decisions, not from the owner. Never did I hear, 'Bud Adams refuses to pay for Player X'. He wasn't Jerry Jones. Bud, for the most part, let the men he hired to make football decisions, make football decisions

And for the dude blaming him for Steve McNair's release. Again that wasn't a bud Adams decision, it was a Floyd Reese one and it was made to protect the salary cap, not Bud's pockets. If you can't understand WHY Steve McNair was released then I don't think you understand the "business" of football you talk so much about. I also don't understand this media shell you speak of or why you accuse Bud Adams was trying to 'hide his brand'? What are you talking about dude?

Bud Adams may have rightfully developed a dislike for the way he ran things in Houston and the way he left, but for Titans fans, I feel like it became a cool thing to do to blame the owner for things. but what did he really do wrong? where was he cheap? Outside of VY and Peyton when did he interfere with football decisions?

Nailed it. The VY thing was a fiasco, but everything else has been fine. Honestly, I don't think he was wrong to go after Peyton.

In hindsight obviously he was right. Laughing

Edit: Ahh a classic Titania moment. I don't think I'll ever forget the time we were all tracking Bud's plane in here. Fun times. Very Happy

That's the reason for me. The VY fiasco and Peyton pursuit were minor. I can forgive a guy for trying to have a say in a business he poured millions into. I hated the whole divorce from Houston. And the VY fiasco was part of that as well.

Ah, yes. That airplane tracking thread was the most fun I've ever had at the office.

The Peyton chase was completely worth it. If he was at the helm we'd probably be 6-1 or 7-0 right now. Bud threw all his chips in the basket which is why some people were upset. Cause the best FA's we got during that offseason were Hutchinson and Wimbley, basically worthless, which is why everyone was upset and thought he was dumb. But honestly if we had Peyton who knows where we'd be. We'd be getting sooo much media attention which would be great. Prime time games, a ton more buzz, an elite offense to go with our great D, maybe even have gotten Welker. Definite immediate SB contenders-- what he wanted. And we were right in there to get him up until the end... a very close 2nd
Love ya Bud RIP

I remember that chase. Lots of different opinions back then on what to do.

Yeah, the Bud plane tracking was the best thread ever during the fivehead recruiting frenzy. I think the Randy Moss signing was a close second.
