Is there any team more cursed with hyper talented players getting neck injuries then the Packers?

It was clear Gipson was trying to pull off but Finley dropped his head.

Its the risks of going over the middle. It couldve been far worse if Gipson just played like a safety playing a guy who weighs 40 lbs more than him.

yeah, not buying that...

if you buy that i got ocean side property in Wyoming to sell you. but it didnt show fully on mike and mike after the play but it looked like he celebrated after.

but thats was a filthy dirty hit. head completely down and only thing he could hit was the head area. unless he was running and went "hey are my shoes untied" he should be suspended. im tired of these either intentionally dirty hits or just horribly bad form hits. lets stop fining people for all the ticky tak hits and just suspending people for being blatantly dirty or blatantly bad at tackling. throw in a mandatory tackling school for everyone in who has these types of hits. this is why the rules are in place.

Then watch the replay not a still shot. He led with his shoulder pad and moved his head at the last second so as to not make it helmet to helmet. He wasnt a defenseless receiver, either. He had taken several steps. Unfortunate but not Gipson's fault.

Good news. Finley tweeted this morning that he was able to get up and walk to the shower, so hopefully that means he's on the way to recovery and it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Update:

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9863534/jermichael-finley-green-bay-packers-no-table-recovery

No surgery. No long term effects. Should be able to continue his career without greater risk of injury. All good news. The time line of 4-6 weeks is probably best case scenario though and with how conservative the Packers are with injuries, I think his season is over. This recent report is awesome though in terms of his future.

Jermichael:

Good to see him walking around, thats for sure. Not sure what he is saying is false but my guess is everyone saying how his career is over or he needs surgery. I just hope he gets healthy and if he wants to continue to play and there is no higher risk of reinjury, he should go for it.

Laughing A lot of sources I'm seeing are saying he should be able to make a strong recovery. Is he making his announcement that his career is over via twitter? Laughing

Never has been too bright of a guy.

Anyways, I hope he returns, he's had his struggles but he's too talented of kid to be done already.

There were reports coming out at a specific point of time that surgery hadn't been ruled out after all and the swelling was too bad to tell for sure if he was going to need it. He posted that in regards to that report, but Finley's word usage has never been one of his strongest marks.

Twitter is stupid. Count me in as one of the ones avoiding that stock.

Glad to see that Finley isn't paralyzed. 6 weeks sounds right.

Those of you saying that was a dirty hit are crazy. He clearly not only went into the hit without malicious intent, he clearly attempted to lessen the injury risk (and penalty risk) of the hit when he contorted his body.
