I'd deal either/both for whatever we can get at this point......well, not both for whatever.

Don't the Eagles need a QB now too? Who else lost their QB?

Why would Jeff Fisher be interested in Ponder when Vince Young is on the street and would cost nothing? Of course, they might not get along (like they didn't in Tennessee), but maybe, just maybe, Vince has matured a bit. Wink

We probably would get a 5th or 6th for him (Probably 6th). I'd do it in a heart beat. Might as well get something for him. I'm calling the rams right now to deal for him.

This is a great idea, take anything you can get for him and move on. I think St. Louis should pull the trigger.

Why would Fisher go for Young. They clashed all the time and it was reported that Fisher had no interest in drafting Young but the owner pushed it. I'd rather trade Cassel personally.

I was only saying it as sort of in-jest. But, I don't really understand why Fisher would have interest in any of the QBs on this roster, Cassel included.

Who is the Rams current backup. If the Rams are willing to tank this season there is no point but if they wanted to salvage the season Cassel or Ponder is likely better than anything that they have right now.

Ponder played well against the Rams last year. Food for thought.

With Reggie Wayne out for the season, I wonder if the Colts would have some interest in Jerome Simpson?

Chris Mortensen ‏@mortreport 1m
Rams will look at a handful of quarterbacks but you can exclude Tim Tebow and Vince Young from that list.

Kellen Clemens.

The Rams' and Bears' situations right now are why it can be dangerous to only have 2 QBs on the roster.

I really don't think it matters if you carry only two QB's or three. You can, as the Bears showed by signing Jordan Palmer, find someone to be your backup if your top QB gets hurt.

It's not as if the third QB is going to make a world of difference if they have to go into the game anyway. If that happens, the team is screwed.

If you're down to your third qb, you're screwed anyway. If I was managing a roster I would only keep two on the active roster and find a third qb to keep on the practice squad in the event of an injury

Apparently the big obstacle to trading Ponder to the Rams is that the Rams may not have the cap room.

Sad
