Cushing=Beason now?

Beason never cheated.

Im just saying that they were/are great ILBs who had major injuries. Beason is now a shell of his former self, and Cushing now has his second major injury.

I'd liken Cushing closer to Merriman in terms of their impact on their teams, getting caught, and then having injuries derail their careers.

I'd say Merriman got injuries because he stopped juicing, Cushing's been chop blocked and had injury's that had nothing to do with his juicing.

Serioulsy... NFL talks about player safety but continues to allow cut blocking... Cushing might go from a future several time All-Pro to a guy who has to hang em up early due to injuries thanks to cut blocking on two consecutive seasons...

You hate to see that for him.

They only care about offensive players. Defensive players are allowed to be targeted and the league does nothing.

I agree if it was a non impact injury you can blame past steroid abuse when you get chopped like that the comments about steroids are just from the haters

Yeh i agree with BlaqOptic, you preach health and safety but theyre prepared to let guys continually blow their knees out following low blocks. Do they fear that low blocks will make RBs more susceptible to pass blocking and thus in turn prevent high scoring games?

What i dont get is the "using the crown of your helmet outside the tackle box" rule is implemented but has not come into play once yet im still seeing guys using the crown of the helmet.

That is really terrible for Cushing. 2nd major leg injury for him on the last two years. I wonder if he will be the same player again. The Texans were having a bad enough season as it was.

Posted this in the KC forum as well. In a bad situation, thought it showed real class and maturity from both guys.

Actually no.

Merriman was never the same after he took a cheap shot from Kevin Mawae gave him a cheap shot late in the 2007 season.

Ouch. Those injuries suck, but the turnaround isn't bad. Unfortunately, I don't think the Texans will be playing come January, so it's best he doesn't rush things and makes sure he's fully healthy for next season.

That injury was hard to watch. Gotta feel for the dude after his ACL last year.

Man, there were a lot of injuries this week.
