Bengals CB Leon Hall did in fact tear his Achilles, a season-ending injury.

Always lose someone for the year or more when we play at Ford field

Yeah, the other side.

Do we know if it was a full tear, or just partial like Suggs? He walked off the field after only being down for about 5 seconds.

Ouch. Forget season ending, these can be career altering in the bad sense.

I'm sorry Bengals fans. Ford Field is just not your friend.

Yeah, Jeff Cumberland suffered a torn Achilles early in the 2011 season and he didn't really fully regain his speed until this year. Even now, he might be a tick slower than he was then.

Mikel Leshoure still isn't the same either. Lost pretty much any explosiveness he had.

Yeah, luckily Cumberland has freakish speed, so even if he lost a few hundredths of a second off his 4.45 40, he is still very fast for his position. But last year, he was noticeably not as fast as he was before and it hurt his performance.

And Suggs clearly wasn't himself last year when he came back in comparison to how he played prior and how he is playing this year. I expect the same from Crabtree for the niners; will come back, but will not be nearly 100% until the start of next season.

While its an injury you can come back from in 6 months, I really think it's about a 12-15 month recovery time to be back 100%

Leon Hall tore his achilles on his other heel in 2011. I said the same thing you said in this quote back then. But, he healed and played better in the second half of 2012 than he ever did before, and was playing lights out this year. So, i don't think this will be career altering. I think he'll be good to go for September 2014. And more than that, he'll be a rock for the secondary again in the second half of that season.

I hate to see someone who worked so hard to get back have that taken away from him. I'll definitely say a prayer for his recovery

Even for a division rival, I absolutely hate hearing this kind of thing.

Hopefully he can recover well for next year. Achilles injuries are probably the worst for DBs in terms of how it affects them long term. That and OLineman...but hey, Willie Colon came back from it...only to injure something else).
