According to a Harris poll published in 'Sports Business Daily', The Bengals have risen enormously in national popularity; (if you believe the numbers).

http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Daily/Issues/2007/10/Issue-17/The-Back-Of-The-Book/Harris-Poll-Cowboys-Regain-Spot-As-Favorite-NFL-Team.aspx

What do we put this down to ?

1) more wins/ play-off appearances
2) hard knocks
3) more pro-bowlers.

Or is this just a pile of junk ?

I find it hard to believe that we a re more 'popular' than The Ravens for example

I see where you got this from on profootballtalk, but I think your looking at the wrong one

http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Daily/Issues/2013/10/16/Research-and-Ratings/Harris-Poll.aspx?app_data={%22pi%22%3A%2238048_1382015056_827712316%22%2C%22pt%22%3A%22twitter%22}

this one makes a bit more sense IMO

lets not forget that 2 years ago when ESPN made a list rating all professional sport teams on a list, the Bengals were dead last in all pro sports. I think they went up only because they have proven they aren't the worst franchise in the NFL anymore. Yeah when history says it all, the bengals are still very close to the bottom, maybe still the worst, but things are only gonna get better at this point.

Plus the number of sellouts this team has had over the years as well. The Bengals lead the NFL in blackouts in 2011 with 6 despite making the playoffs. They got better in 2012 with only 2 blackouts. This year the Bengals are on pace to sellout all of there home games out which could be another reason why they are getting better.
