They were talking about this on Sirius today about the entire NFL, so it got me thinking about our division. We all know the NFC Best (aka West) has a ton of talented players on the defensive side of the ball...

If you could do away with one player on the defensive side of the ball from any team in our division (excluding your own team) who would it be and why? Just curious to see how much of a consensus there will/won't be...

You can vote for any active players. I didn't make a poll because I didn't want to exclude anyone. Post yours below and I'll tally them in a week or so...

UPDATE

After asking this in all the NFC West threads I have tallied the results. Here they are for each team forum...

Rams:

My vote goes to Navorro Bowman even though that kind of already happened. Never wish injury upon anyone though. Bowman is one of the best defenders in the league. Aldon Smith is great too.

Kam Chancellor scares the hell out of me. But Richard Sherman is so vital in the Seahawks' success. Same with Earl Thomas.

If the Rams had their QB situation together I might say Robert Quinn. Destroyed Levi Brown in week 1.

Bottomline, there's a ton of great defenders in this division.

Yeah - have to agree about Navorro Bowman - really sad seeing him go down like he did. He was clearly a beast on the field the entire season and especially against us in the last game of the regular season.

I'll offer up three others though that are big candidates - Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas from the Seahawks, and Robert Quinn from the Rams. All are worthy (people in this forum strongly considered Robert Quinn at #5 that year he was drafted - really disappointed to see him drop into the Ram's lap there).

Justin Smith

Seems to kill us everytime we play niners.

Also, makes Smith even harder to play, as we cant block both of them.

His career is pretty much already over. I know in past years he killed us but I can't remember him having much of an impact this season against us. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

For me it's Patrick Willis. He's all over the field....

Think he was hurt one game

He is the reason Willis and Bowman kill us every time.

Eh, Justin certainly helps, but I don't think he is the reason those two ILBs kill the Cardinals.

And as an SF fan, I chose Campbell because he is a handful every single time.

Sherman for being a pain in the .....

Otherwise Bowman - Man is legit - Don't wish an injury on anyone and I hope he makes a good recovery but it would be convenient if he could miss a game or two.

Sherman because I hate his personality. At least PP is humble and doesn't wage wars on other players i.e. Brady, Crabtree. Sherman needs to learn his place; he can talk down to Brady when he is a 9x Pro Bowler, 2x MVP, and 3x Super Bowl champ

Without a doubt Robert Quinn-he is going to terrorize our QB for the next decade and is arguably the best young pass rusher in the league.
