It is beyond disappointing watching the Oakland Raiders defense stop the Pittsburgh Steelers while our defense looked like a JV squad out there...

Every given sunday? Idk.

Oh good lord. The Steelers had no big plays against us and only scored one TD. Our defense did fine.

I sort of agree. The run defense and the pass-rush was underwhelming though. Bell was consistently getting yards even though he didn't break any big plays. From what we've seen all year the pass-rush was downright terrible. Especially considering it was Pittsburgh's offensive line they went against.

But the offense was to blame for that loss, like most of the other ones this season.

Hopefully some of the adjustments during the bye week help the running game.

I was thinking about this the other day... Is it just me or does it seem like early in games there is something Cam Cameron-esque about Caldwell's play calling? When we fall behind and it's later in games, it's like the governor comes off and Joe tears it up just pitching and catching with his receivers (and its certainly never really been in garbage time). It's almost as though the coaching staff is calling a very rigid game plan or something early on and when it's now or never, then they get a little looser and the players are able to make plays. 1st half/2nd half splits support this to a degree. Maybe its the players. I don't know. What I do know, though, is that we need to play to win for the rest of the season.

Yet drove the ball consistently on us nearly every time, pounded the running game, and completely shut down our pass rush.

And only scored 1 TD. They don't put yards or 1st downs on the score board.

But they do put up field goals, and that's what the difference was. Rushing yards, no pass rush and it all added up in the end to us losing. Not giving up a touchdown sometimes isn't a victory for your defense. If the goal is to give up a field goal, then you have a terrible defensive scheme.
