While I understand not making a move for Britt or Gordon I would have no issue with the team going after Mr. Nicks is a true Pro and even with Crabtree coming back in Nov/Dec he could be an invaluable addition to the team right now. Thoughts?

I can almost guarantee that we will throw out an offer. Probably wont be good enough but we will see. Either way I want Sammy Watkins VERY badly.

The sheet says 3rd round. If that's true, we should have 3 of them. Considering we can't draft wrs so save our lives....why not?

I would take Nicks for a 3rd rounder.

Really going to depend on cap space with Nicks, I think. I'd be interested.

we would have to pay him a big contract

him and crabs probably end up getting a similar contract. if thats true, no reason to try with nicks with crabs and kap already are for sure great together

Does Nicks have one year left? Hell, I'd throw a third for a one year rental of him. Great player when he's healthy, but I'd rather resign Crabtree if it came down to one of the two.

We'd get a decent complementary pick if we opted not to re-sign Nicks, and he got a big contract elsewhere. Imagine we trade a third for him, and get a fourth round comp pick afterwards... that's a really good investment.

Nicks for a 3 (even a late 2) would be a steal if it could work cap wise

Giving up a 2nd round pick for a FA is a big time risk. I would be good giving up a 3rd rounder as we will have a lot of picks, but I'd still rather go after Gordon.

If its the difference between getting to ny or not even a one year rental is worth it to me. Whichever one of Crabs/Nicks we like better gets a new deal.. I dont know what the cap looks likr, but if we cut Boldin would it be possible to retain Nicks and Crabs?

Well most likely put in an offer, but we don't usually win bidding wars.

It makes sense that people would start to make offers, but it's no guarantee that they actually put him out there. The amazing thing is, last year at the end of the season, there were rumors that it was his contract, even though it wasn't up for another year, that they were more concerned about extending rather than Cruz's, who was a restricted free agent. They may still try and resign him; though if I'm the giants, I go ahead and let him walk seeing as how Randle has shown signs of being a capable and potentially good wide receiver.

That being said, I'm sure we throw out an offer, but highly unlikely we get him. The lions and ravens should be offering the most given their playoff position status, weakness and their ability to make a run. We seem content with the wide receivers that we eventually get back and to bide our time until then. I think we throw out an offer, then refuse to budge. I wouldn't go higher than a third given his pending free agent status and the fact that we are highly unlikely to sign him.

My gut says he ends up in Detroit, Britt ends up in New England, and Gordon stays in Cleveland.

Looks like Nicks is slowly being replaced by Randle who is the WR that I wanted instead of Jenkins. I wouldn't mind picking him up for a 3rd or so. Nice 1 2 combo with Crabby when healthy.
