Someone here liked him when he came out. Maybe Richter?

There was a leaked image of a Patriots draft board and Siliga was name not many had heard of but was surprisingly high on the board.

Nick Fairley - AUB
Corey Liuget - ILL
Sealver Siliga - Utah
Christian Ballard - Iowa
Jurrell Casey - USC

Was the ranking of DT's on the board apparently.

I really doubt this is legit.

I remember seeing the video and image stills. It may not be legit, but it did have Nate Solder as one of the highest ranked players visible on the image IIRC and that's who we picked at 17th Overall. Ryan Mallett was also the 2nd ranked QB on that board behind Newton. Yeah, it may be a dummy board, but interesting to see that Solder and Mallett were so high on that list and Siliga too and that they are now on the Patriots.

That was a dummy board put together by PFW, not the real Pats board

Utah has pumped out some quality NFL nose guards - Soliai, Pouha, Fanene, now Lotulelei. Maybe this guy can join the list.

Anyway I don't think anyone mentioned it but this guy's signed to the PS. Not on the 53-man roster. Not sure if this is more related to the team's feeling on Armstead or Forston (who may have finally worn out his seemingly endless goodwill with the team).

Isn't he more of a pass rusher/gap shooting slant nose than a normal Belichick run stopper? Not sure how much of a fit that is.

He's no Wilfork replacement. Stout guy for his size, though.

At the risk of getting summarily murdered by TomRalph... is the Phil Taylor trade idea purely a pipe dream?

I would think so. If he were in the last year of his contract I'd say no, but he's a guy they'll want next year, when I'm sure they anticipate being more competitive. I'd throw Taylor in with Gordon as far as chances of being traded to the Pats. I could only see either of those if Mallett is involved and Belichick thinks the Browns (and specifically Lombardi) value Mallett far more than any other team.

(And in the super, super unlikely chance that Mallett were traded midseason, a trade for Cassel would almost have to also be done, I'd think.)

I don't see a big name veteran DT in the mix until 2015 (if at all) unless Wilfork has a set back.

Kelly/Wilfork/Jones/Armstead/high draft pick (I hope) is solid at worst and has the makings for an elite unit. Obviously, there are a lot of question marks there but giving up a high value asset for Taylor at this point doesn't make sense given Kelly's contract for next year and Jones's recent flashes (not that I'm sold on him, but IMO he's earned an extended look).

Literally banking on armstead and Kelly right now to get healthy and return after the bye to play a heavy amount of snaps.

With how long Kelly has been out for its a sprain of some sorts. Armstead I doubt thought he thought would play much but he'll be needed to play a lot.

Next year like a lot of you have already said should hopefully look like Wilfork/Kelly/rookie/armstead
