According to 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh, Michael Crabtree (Achilles, PUP) is on track to be "game ready" by mid-to-late November.

Clearly Harbaugh saw the news on Harvin, and had to steal their thunder. This is good news for our anemic passing offense.

Harvin will probably develop migraines shortly after he returns.

Hope Crabs is back in time for the Skins/Niners game. I'm going so that would be awesome to see him tear them up.

Now they're saying mid to late November. Great news!

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000265770/article/michael-crabtree-likely-back-in-midtolate-november

Quote:
NFL Media columnist Michael Silver reported on NFL Network's "NFL GameDay Morning" that 49ers sources view mid-to-late November as a realistic target date for Crabtree's return. Getting him back would represent a major boost for quarterback Colin Kaepernick and a passing game short on reliable targets.

I hope it's mid-November - not for any reason other than he should be close to 100% by the playoffs then, which is when it really matters.

Honestly, I'm less concerned about when he's able to return and what type of player he returns as. Suggs had a similar injury last year (though his was a partial tear rather than a full one), and he clearly wasn't the same player he was beforehand and (clearly) after. For a wide receiver who relies so heavily on technical precision in his route running and hard cuts, I wonder if he's capable of being the same receiver any time before next year.

Great point, but truthfully, Michael Crabtree @ 25% > any WRs on the team not named Boldin and Manningham. This offense can still be pretty solid with Boldin, Davis, Manningham, Crabtree as targets 1, 2, 3, and 4 respectively.

I say save him for the playoffs or wait until the week before the Seattle game. No need to rush him back.

I can't wait to see the reactions of everyone once the team is at full strength. It will start with the Saints game and continue when we return the favor vs Seattle.

I know both are tough teams and Seattle won the last two(in Seattle though) but I am confident in the team esp when at as close to full strength as possible.

Well, you can't just save him for the playoffs and expect him to play well. Crabtree will have some obvious rust and giving him about five games in the regular season should get him ready for the playoffs.
