Estimated cap room: $21m

Assuming we go 6-10 and pick 8th

Eagles free agents

QB Michael Vick - not resigned
WR Riley Cooper – not resigned
S Nate Allen – not resigned
S Kurt Coleman – not resigned

If we go 6-10, then its time to move on from Vick. Its also time to move on from Allen and Coleman who are part of the defense restructure

WR Jeremy Maclin – 2 year contract ($3m per year)
DL Cedric Thornton – 2 round pick tender ($2m per year)
DL Clifton Geathers – 2 year contract ($0.8m per year)
OLB Phillip Hunt – first right of refusal tender ($1.3m per year)
S Colt Anderson – 1 year contract ($0.7m per year)
P Donnie Jones – 2 year contract ($1m per year)

Maclin is brought back as he has the ability to draw attention away from Jackson. All the other resignings are straightforward.

Cap room after resigning: $12.2m

Cuts

LB Demeco Ryans (saves $6.8m)
CB Cary Williams (saves $3.1m)
NT Issac Sopoaga (saves $2.8m)

Ryans just isn't a fit in a 34, Williams has been very inconsistent and Sopoaga has been benched

Cap room after cuts: $24.9m

Trades

Trade DE Trent Cole to New England for their 2014 4th round pick (saves $1.8m)
Trade TE Brent Celek to Atlanta for their 2014 5th round pick (saves $4.1m)
Trade DE Vinny Curry to Cincinnati for their 2014 4th round pick (saves $0m)
Trade QB Nick Foles to Kansas City and the 5th round pick (from Atlanta) for their 4th round pick (saves $0m)

Pains me to trade Cole, but he just isn't as effective in the 34. Celek goes as Ertz needs to step up. Curry goes as he just isn't a fit in the 34 and Foles goes as he isn't Kelly's guy

Cap room after trades: $30.8m

Free Agents

S Jarius Byrd – 5 year, $42m contract ($8.4m per year)

DE Corey Peters – 5 year, $18m contract ($3.6m per year)

CB Walter Thurmond – 4 year, $10m contract ($2.5m per year)

LB Daryl Smith – 2 year, $5m contract ($2.5m per year)

QB Shaun Hill – 2 year, $3.6m contract ($1.8m per year)

Byrd and Thurmond both have past connections to Kelly and come to improve our secondary. Peters comes into play DE with Thornton moving to NT. Smith replaces Ryans as the experienced ILB and Hill is there as a veteran backup at QB

Cap room after free agency: $12.0m

Draft

1-8 Anthony Barr LB UCLA

Trade 2nd round pick and last two 4th round picks to Kansas City for their 1st round pick

1-26 (from Kansas City) – Blake Bortles QB Central Florida

3-8 – Xavier Su’a-Filo G UCLA

4-8 – Hakeem Smith S Louisville

4-22 (from Cincinnati) – Boseko Lokombo OLB Oregon

5-8 – Jeff Janis WR Saginaw Valley

6-8 – Qua Cox CB Jackson State

7-8 – Brian Clarke G Bloomsburg

Barr has the ability to be a great 34 rush linebacker. Bortles has the allround game to be a franchise QB in the league. Su’a-Filo is a pick for the next couple of years - it won't be long before Mathis and Herremans slows down. Smith can be developed into a starting S, Lokombo is an athletic LB in the mold of Dion Jordan. Janis, Cox and Clarke are all small school players who could develop into starters/contributors

Rip away.

I really see no reason to waste picks on players that dont play qb or defense.

Typical Ninja going for the negatives. Have you been over to the mock draft form recently.

A 4th for Curry is a bit overzealous, he'd probably net a 6th rounder at best.

Not a big college football person so I can't really speak on the prospects, but I think the positions address what we need. I'd swap the 3rd or 4th pick with a corner, though.

If Byrd hits the open market we can pretty much guarantee he comes here. Chip will make sure of that, and we have the cash to do it.

Well I like Barr. I like getting byrd and thurmond.

Would rather take a corner or linebacker in the third over a guard.

I was thinking about that, but then I thought of our line. We really haven't got any great reserves and Mathis/Peters/Herremans are all getting on a bit and so lets get some guys ready to step in in a year or two.

I don't think we'd need a CB as we would have Thurmond and Fletcher as our starters with Boykin in the nickel.

I think barbe, tobin and kelly are all decent reserves.

And when one of those three inevitably misses time? We're in no better shape than we are now. I think a day 2 CB would be perfect for some depth, instead of adding trash like Poyer, with the outside chance they are good enough to start one day.

Understand what you're saying, but we just need to bring in good players. We have a lot of holes, so we're going to have lack of depth somewhere whatever happens.

I agree on Kelly, and I see him slotting in at RT when Johnson kicks over to LT. I am not sure on the other two - I think they fit into the Vandervelde school of backup linemen.

I think you trade too many of our players. Trent been solid so far this year.
I doubt we bring Hunt back.

Overall solid,

Overall solid,

I think the real life Eagles will make more trades and cuts. I'm really expecting a huge overhaul.

You really think we can trade 4 of our players?

Colt Anderson needs to GO! Having a safety that's only a special teams specialist on a team with a bad special teams and horrible safeties is INSANE!
