Well since we are one of the biggest surprises in the NFL at 0-4. So, does any one thing it's too early to make a top-5 Prospect thread?

Let me give you my personal opinion, on what I think has happened.
It all started with the release of the coke machine in Brandon Jacobs.

I really like Tuitt, but Top 5-ish is too early, but would be a good fit. Nix is more of a pure run stuffer. Nix would excel in a 3-4 NT or at least 4-3 that utilizes a NT with a UT. Tuitt also is scheme versitale, which could be important if we get a new DC. ND's defenders could get dinged because they lost by their QB and their current one is Tommy Turnover.

Jake Matthews for me.

I'd prefer to trade back and pick up more picks

I'd agree with this. The thing with Barr is he doesn't fit Fewell's scheme and would seem to be a waste. Like a pure 3-4 OLB to me, only in 2nd year at LB so the responsibilities of a 4-3 LB at NFL game speed could be overwhelming. Amazing talent. At this point, with our current team makeup with whose contracts are expiring and the state of college talent coming out, I wonder if a switch to a 3-4 would be a better option.

IF we did draft Barr, it could look like this...

NT- Linval Joseph (resign)
DE- Jason Pierre-Paul
DE- Cullen Jenkins

Backups on roster- Big Hank, Kuhn

ILB- Jon Beason
ILB- Spencer Paysinger
OLB- Mathias Kiwanuka
OLB- Anthony Barr

Backups on roster- JWill, Herzalich, DaMonster, Trattou

With Tuck and Osi gone and others being UFAs, there wouldn't be the awkward transition of too many square pegs in round holes like the Eagles have this year. On paper, it looks better at least

Don't like this at all. Makes sense for Kiwanuka, but Joseph, Jenkins, JPP, Beason aren't in their best position. I'm praying Paysinger doesn't start next year. Damontre and Q are also out of place. Obviously we haven't seen anything from Hankins yet, and he could possibly fit the 34, but it'd be a waste of a 2nd on a guy firmly stuck behind Linval.

Yankey from stanford. But in the second round. all american guard. Played left tackle last year. I pray he comes out this year:

Quote:
08/27/13 - GRADING CBSSPORTS.COM'S ALL-AMERICA TEAM AS NFL PROSPECTS: OG David Yankey, Stanford (6-5, 311, Sr.)...Last year Yankey was voted by Pac-12 defensive linemen as the conference's top blocker despite it being his first year playing left tackle. He's been moved back inside to left guard for 2013, where scouts feel his lateral agility, balance and toughness are best suited. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com

Even if we draft jake matthews and yankey. Our line can look:
Beatty yankey baas pugh matthews

Baas beinf the weak link but hey. Hes getting paid...

I'm totally with you so far with Matthews and yankey. Yankey as a guard is the complete package. With that oline I say cut baas as June 1 and make a push at Mack. Be sorted for the next 4 years. Or at least I can dream

As much as we need help in the trenches, I'd be tempted to spend that top 10 pick on a corner. We have one reliable corner going into next year - Prince. Webster, Thomas, Ross are all pushing 30, injury prone and unreliable. Hosely has done nothing to instill confidence. So Bradley Roby from Ohio State?

If we go DB in the first round AGAIN i might go nuts. The reason we're in this mess with our LBs and OL is because we've wasted early round picks on DBs.
